Thank you Trader Joe’s, for the 25 stickers you give each of my kids every time we shop.
When I looked in my rear view mirror tonight, I saw them being put to good use.
How funny are these kids!
And when Dash’s stickers were all used up and probably all over the ground, Navy started in on her own stickers.
—
And on Saturday morning, Scout can start in on all of the 50 stickers that have ended up on every different part of the car, during his Saturday morning chore of cleaning out the car.
—
But Trader Joe’s, the real thanks comes in the fact that your stickers are barely sticky. They have the stickiness of a Post-It note. Which is quite honestly, the reason I allow my kids to even take them. Because Ralph’s stickers are a blasted nightmare to get off of any surface! Trader Joe’s…you’ve nailed it again!
When I walked into Trader Joe’s, all of my kids dispersed. I figured it was to find the monkey to get a sucker, but instead, they all went to get a mini cart. When I saw three kids coming towards me with mini carts, I told them that there is only one per family. So after two mini carts were returned, I noticed that Pippi was the lucky one who got to push it. but then I noticed that her cart was full of everything that was at her eye level, such as polenta, jalepenos, jam, and soon-to-be wheat pasta. My eyes got big, and I stopped Scout from laughing and told him to “put it all away and stop the madness”!
Fast forward five minutes….I was pleased to see that Scout solved all of the issues.
Everything was put away, and Pippi was now in the cart, drinking juice from the sample counter.
-
Remind me next time to keep those kids in the car!
After finding Dash, and running to sit next to him, Pippi goes through the proper protocol to be released.
She sings the goodbye song.
She raises her hand to be called on.
And when she hears “Dash and Dash’s sister” she gets up and walks to her parent.
—
This girl wants to be Dash’s twin so badly!
Scout’s teachers have set up the raddest app for me to monitor his effort, behavior, and homework.
And class Dojo has become my new best friend!
We had a few hiccups when it all first started, but now that he knows I am all-knowing, his improvement has been tremendous.
And today, I almost did back flips, when I saw his Dojo!
I was pleased he was at 100%, but beyond pleased when I saw +2 for “Showing Kindness”!
NOTHING in life makes me happier, than when I see one of my kids being kind.
I asked him about it, and he told me that there was a classmate struggling with something in Chinese, so Scout walked over after he was finished, and said, “Let me help you understand this”.
YAY SCOUT!!!
It is just short of a miracle, when all four of my kids can agree on something.
it is an ACTUAL miracle, when that something is a food product!
And in the last few weeks, we have discovered that every single person sitting at our table, loves artichokes!
Dash devours them.
Pippi pigs out on them.
Navy nails them — especially the heart surgery.
AND….
DRUMROLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!
Scout scarfs them down!
—
Needless to say, artichokes are on our menu about three times a week at the moment!
Scout has mastered the grilled cheese.
He makes them just how he likes them — golden on both sides, with “stringy” melted cheese!
Nice work Chef Boyardee.
Church today started out with Pippi’s silent tantrum.
I was really proud of her, that she has finally realized that she needs to stay quiet — even during tantrums at church!
-
After Sacrament, we headed to classes, and then to Navy’s scripture and Scout’s talk.
Both went well…even if Scout and I just wrote his talk last night. That boy had it memorized, and gave it with a whole lot of confidence!
It went:
“Ni hao….and then about four more sentences in Chinese”.
Then Navy interupted with, “Whoa Scout! Do you think anyone can understand you?”
Then he said, “Oh whoops! I forgot that you all speak English! And you can’t understand me, unless I am speaking English to you. But do you know that in other parts of the world, people don’t speak or understand English? They speak French, or Tagolog, or even Mandarin Chinese like I was just speaking. So no wonder that in the Doctrine and Covenants it says, “And this gospel shall be preached unto all nations, and kindred, and tongue, and people”.
So not everyone is like u, and lives in this country, speaking English. BUT, we are all God’s children. And through the missionaries, who learn and speak all sorts of languages, Heavenly Father wants everyone to learn about His gospel.
I wonder when I go on a mission, if I will speak Chinese.
Who knows…I guess I’ll find out in 9 years.”
—
After church, I went to go and get Pippi — who is never still in Nursery, because a multitude of different people always pick her up. Today, it was Ka, and I found them snacking on popcorn, looking at pictures on Ka’s phone — all while cuddling on the back couch.

I always love Sundays.
But today has been my favorite in a while.
There are two new pianists in our home.
The first is a young girl, who is dominating at her beginner pieces.
Mr. Holt has already expressed that he is already impressed by her.
As I have practiced with her, she has the touch, and is really responsible in doing proper practicing.
Just check out that posture!
And the other pianist is the polar opposite.
Naughty and naked is how this girl practices.
I found this note from Micah on the counter.
“If any kid throws the trash bags in the black trash can without being asked, they get $10.”
Surprisingly to some, (but not to me), this reward went unclaimed.
Skilly had to come home from BYU, to officially pass the homecoming crown off to this year’s queen.
She thought it was all a little silly, but took it as a great excuse to come home and see everyone.
We were stoked.
And then it was PARTY TIME, when she became a commoner once again!!!
