Apparently, Dash doesn’t feel the caked on ice cream all over his face.
Or if he does…he doesn’t care.
Today marks the end of an era.
Today is the last days my kids will eat out of them.
Sadly, Micah tainted the straw bowls when he told my kids that the straw can never actually get clean.
They bought into Micah’s nonsense, and have ousted the best bowls on earth.
It is a sad day…I feel like their childhood is vanishing before my eyes.
Marbella has the best samples.
Unfortunately, my con artist kids think so too.
For the freshly-squeezed orange juice, Scout bypassed the mini cup, for a nearby large cup.
And Navy got into the car with a large cup filled with all of the samples around the store.
I should be humiliated.
But when I get charged $8.99 per pound of ground beef, I feel like it is a bit of sweet justice.
(Also, the guys behind the meat counter get a kick out of my kids…and kind of egg them on.)
For family night, we came up with our family motto.
These are all things we have all tried to already grasp, but now it is concise and in writing.
And I may have already heard Navy say “solve your own problems” to Dad when he asked for a glass of water!
For our final Sea World field trip, I yanked the three older kids out of school.
Micah was able to come too, so it was a family affair, and really fun.
The sea life was amazing. And since we were there early, everything was really active which was perfect.
Obviously, the rides were fun.
Our highlight was when we found the most insane arcade game! I would have never…NEVER let our kids play an arcade game, but Micah let them. And then we found this game that gave us so many tickets, it was addicting! I literally kept getting tokens it was so fun — all for a few tootsie rolls in the end…but we laughed enough to make it worth it.
But the best story of the day came from Dash:
We were going on the swings that go up really high. I told him to take his shoes off so his feet could get cool in the wind. When we were all the way at the top of the ride (with a complete view of the whole park), I looked over at Dash, and he was gripping his Ugg boots with his feet. I started dying, because that is classic Dash! If he would have let them go, they would have gone so far, we never would have found them! The rest of the ride, I kept threatening him to hold them tight. When we finally got down, we all breathed a sigh of relief at his bonehead move. Then we all laughed all the way home because of it!
Good Old Dash.
There is no secret, that Dash is always a mess after eating.
But once I cleaned his face…he was still a hot mess.
This time, because dribbled.
When we were cracking up his misfortune, he shrugged his shoulders and said, “Ahhh. I don’t care!”
Good for you in peer pressure ways, and bad for you in having personal pride ways.
Navy turns NINE today!
It is all so exciting.
For her ‘birthday party”, she invited Sara on a full day of fun. We went to yogurtland, went to eh park, stopped at Britni’s house, where she had set up bracelet making, and then headed home for presents and cake!
It was low key, but a little girl’s dream.
Nine!
Navy, it has been nine great years.
Happy Birthday.
Some things never change around here.
It is always a fight to see who gets to sleep with Nonnie.
Whoever gets chosen, always beats Nonnie up in their sleep.
And the next morning, Nonnie graciously offers up her cereal milk to the offender.
Pippi is constantly in a new outfit.
Today, she picked an all white get up, that she was very fond of.
And when I told her she looked like an angel, she could tell that I was fond of it too.
So the modeling began.
I saw pose after pose after pose.
Then she asked me to start snapping photos.
I’ll admit…she might have a career.
It is amazing how the kids who were fighting to the ends of the earth, changed their entire tune after a three minute time out.
