Snaphot of Life

img_1226-2016-03-14-at-16-21-21.jpg
This is a life snapshot.
Everyone is in Nonnie’s bed while she is telling everyone to get out so she can make it.
Navy put her hair into pigtails because Bella loves it, and she just got in town.
Skylar is snapping selfies with Baby Blush while Scout looks on.
Navy and Dash are sneaking Nonnie’s IPad while nobody was looking.
I am taking a picture of it all going down.
And Pippi — well, she is hiding under the blankets, and taking her new hobby of teasing, very seriously!

Hair By Lindsey

Too bad I didn’t start charging Ka for my stellar hairstyles long ago.
By now, I’d be rich!

Certificate of Merit

img_1197-2016-03-12-at-10-50-15.jpg
For the first time, Scout tested for Certificate of Merit.
He was well-prepared, but was still a bit nervous.
Good thing there was a mother from our school that was the greeter for our judge!
Talk about a coincidence.
I could hear him play his sight-reading, his technique and his pieces — all of which, he played very well.
Then we drove to where he needed to take his theory test.
Again, he was a bit nervous…but Mrs. Komine was one of the monitors at the test!
What a coincidence again!

I was so proud of him, that afterwards he got to choose the place we ate.
So Scout, Pippi and I headed off to California Pizza Kitchen, where he had his Cheese Pizza…and they of course, held the sauce.

So Sad

This little sister sat on the ground and genuinely sulked, after Dash left for school.
She was so sad her playmate was gone.

Park Dudes

After school today, we hit up the park with the Stehrenbergers and Nichols.
I love all of these dirty, mandarin-speaking, shirtless, good boys.
And so does Navy.

Because she flirted with them (by tackling and teasing) the entire time — minus the four minutes she got Katie to go on the teeter totter with her!

Clothed vs. Not Clothed

img_1170-2016-03-08-at-14-54-48.jpg
Since my kids basically live in their underwear at home, my younger kids don’t know where the fine line is drawn.
When Pippi started stripping down at the Science Center, I realized I need to go over the rules again with her.
RULES:
At home, anything goes.
In public, fully dressed goes.

Storm

img_1163-2016-03-07-at-07-35-13.jpg
We don’t get thunder and lightning very often, but when we do, we stop everything to enjoy it.
I was trying to teach the kids how to count between thunder and lightning to see how close it is.
That’s probably an old tall tale, but it makes a storm all the more fun!

The Look Back

img_1157-2016-03-05-at-19-49-35.jpg
I know this look all too well.
This is the look I get from Pippi when she is doing something naughty, and looks back to see if I am watching.
Usually, I am.

D & D

img_1149-2016-03-04-at-16-43-04.jpg
My kids were elated when we drove onto our street to see that Daisy and Donald had returned!!!!
Our cul-de-sac filled up with bread immediately, and everyone was in their happy place.
But then Pippi was too eager to be their best friend, and chased them away.
Good thing we aren’t worried….our Daisy and Donald always return to us.

Carpool

Just a little snapshot into our life in the car.
Scout and Navy are wrestling in the back.
Dash is trying to play with Pippi who is probably shunning him.
And I am threatening them to get their seat belts on again!
(Please note: We are at a red light, and all but Dash are in their seat belts in this picture.  And Dash got busted.)
