You can’t go wrong with Five Guys and the missionaries.
I love the distraction of the peanuts as we wait for our food. Unfortunately, when we first came here, the workers told my kids to drop the shells on the ground. So for the first time in their lives, they follow the rules to a T. I always apologize, but they are always great with the mess. After dinner, Navy challenged Elder Nattress to a drawing competition. He drew her, and she drew him.
I don’t care what his looked like, she definitely won!
I am so annoyed!
I have been wanting to take a picture of the 100,000th mile turnover for the last few months.
But as the last few days have been hectic…I missed it!
I guess 100,011 will have to do.

Dear Sienna,
You have been awesome, from Cinco de Mayo 2011 until today, I have loved you.
I can’t believe it has been over five years we have been in this steady relationship.
Even though I didn’t get the monumental moment on film, I will record where we were driving.
We were on the 5 freeway, going north like we do so often.
But instead of heading to school this time, we were heading to Lakeshore Learning Center to pick up some summer study materials.
I am glad our big day was spent trying to better and educate the weasels who try to destroy you.
I’m sorry it is Scout who cleans you every Saturday.
I know he does a good job for a kid, but he certainly doesn’t take the time and care you really need.
That’s why I get Miguel over here every 10,000 miles or so.
I hope we have a few more great years…at least.
XOXO,
Your Trusty, Bottoming-out, Speedy Little Driver
Upon walking into the kid’s school this morning, they had every lost coat/sweater/jacket/backpack/lunch sack hung over the chain linked fence. It is their attempt to return any lost items, before they donate the unclaimed. There is also one little card table the houses the few things that can’t be hung. I knew none of this stuff was mine, because after Scout losing 2 sweatshirts in 1st grade, I just don’t send my kids with layers anymore. So I walked without looking. But I was curious to see what couldn’t be hung up, so I glanced at the little table. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a teeny pair of sparkly shoes, that were much too small to be shoes of a school goer. I kept walking, and then stopped in my tracks, because those were Pippi’s shoes! What in the world? How did they get here, and how were they lost?
We all cracked up, and then racked our brains to understand how they got lost.
Scout came up with the best thought, that could actually be true.
He thinks that when we came to decorate the door, she took them off at the playground, and we just never noticed that she was shoe-less.
I like it, and that’s the story we are going with.
Pippi and I attended a very prestigious and exciting ceremony today.
Dash our graduate, not only got rave reviews from his teacher, but he also got the ONLY scholastic award, which makes us 3 for 3!!
Scout got math whiz.
Navy got math whiz.
And Dash….got the Great Reader award!
I would have liked “good friend” or “best helper” just fine, but the reading award, when he is the youngest in the class….now that’s AWESOME!
Afterwards was swimming (where Pippi fit right in) and a cake to celebrate.
Congrats my cutest and littlest graduate!
Navy was soooo excited about her performance, she asked for me to dress her “very cute and nice”.
We chose a grey dress with a net overlay, with a big gold bow to match the gold accents from her dress.
Hope that was nice enough!
She sang her heart out in her embarrassed kind of way.
Pippi loved it so much, she scrambled away from me, and took a “front-row” seat.
(I’m not sure what four feet in front of the front row is actually called.)
Regardless of how close she was, it was endearing.
But not as endearing as when Navy turned around to Pippi and invited her into the singing circle demonstration.
I love these sisters.
Afterward we got a group shot of this momentous day — and her really cute and nice outfit!
Hallelujah that school is almost over!!!!!
But the end of the year gets crazy with everything going on.
Today was Scout’s end-of-the-year party, that I could only attend for 25 minutes, because I had to hit up Navy’s performance, and then Dash’s preschool graduation.
But what I dad catch of his party was a 9 year old in his element.
He was with buddies, just running around outside, playing games — and trying to piggy-back two of his best friends.
It didn’t work out so well…so on to the next thing.
For eight years straight, I have been asked if I will stop the car for my kids to get out and run home. Today wasn’t Pippi’s first time running, but it was her first time asking. So Scout went with her, and they walked holding hands at first. Soon after, it turned into a light jog, and then a sprint where they raced home. And my most competitive child, Scout, let Pippi run for the win!
My kids love swimming with Gretchen, because they get to swim to the stairs/bottom of the pool and retrieve these Disney characters.
Pippi is really fond of the Mickey’s right now.
So she asks for them over and over!
When NayNay asked if Navy would go sailing with her, there was an obvious YES!
Navy, taking in account the cool air outside, drummed up a perfect outfit.
Well, I helped with the clothes, but the perfection comes in Dad’s beanie, which she chose.
Looking good!
But not nearly as good as that sunset while they sailed.
Dash got invited to Legoland with Alexa today.
I got this picture sent to me, and I think it’s safe to say that he is having a really good time!
My thoughts were validated when he came home, and proceeded to tell me minute by minute detail of his day.
