We hit Lagoon perfectly. There were no lines at all. We discovered that for 25 cents, we could get a huge Styrofoam cup of ice water at any vendor. And we had cousins that were perfectly paired with our kids, who encouraged our kids to go on every single ride there.
Dash and Pips loved the kid section, that might be the best kid section at any amusement park.
They had a ton of things for them, and Pippi and Dash would ride things over and over.
Nonnie got in on the action — but picked the worst ride. It is the ferris wheel that has individual cages that spin. I could tell she wasn’t doing so great, so I asked if they would get her off. My poor mom was almost green, and had to take a breather after that ride.
Pippi loved to go on a “big kid” thing.
And Dash was the only smart one who took a run though the water to cool off.
It was a pretty hot day, but they have so much shade, it seemed to be alright.

I haven’t been to Lagoon since I was little, but this might become a new regular stop on our Utah trip.
Good times.
When they called the primary kids to come up and sing in Bella’s ward, naturally, I told my kids to head on up.
Only Dash and Pippi went for it, but they were so stinking cute.
Too bad it was a medley they didn’t know, but they worked it, and skated by unnoticed.
And added a whole lot of cuteness to that stage.
There’s nothing like a game of Silent Ninja before our drive-in movie starts!
How rad is Utah.
Four beauties in what I consider to be, the most beautiful park I have ever seen.
Vivien park is a favorite stop of mine.
A river, exploring, shade, wildflowers…
We only missed out on a watermelon to cool off in the river, and kids who weren’t tired.
Pippi and Dash’s teasing all cousins was off the charts!
It was a short stay this year, but not any less beautiful.
We made it to Provo!
A lot of my family was in town, so we all decided to go to lunch at Los Hermanos at 3:00.
Of all people to arrive early, we got there early, so pulled out the hammock from the trunk.
Micah helped Scout set it up, while the other kids waited patiently.
Unfortunately, their patience was nil, once the hammock was up.
So I asked an officer if he would arrest my kids for not getting along.
He was RAD!
He came over and cuffed them, then gave them a little lecture on being a nice sibling, and then made them be nice to each other until he would take them off.
My kind of guy.
The cop scared Dash and Pippi away, so they played airplane with Dad.
And then Micah came up with this launching game that ended up in some problematic launches.
For a while, we couldn’t find Scout, and looked all over.
And then we heard little bird sounds coming from the tree!
Then the crowd started rolling in, and I was in my happy place!
So was Pippi who sat with Blush, and Dash who brought this toy for Blush all the way from home!
Every once in a while, I drop the kids off at Micah’s work to run a few errands kid-free. Today, it was after hours, and nobody had eaten, so I grabbed In-N-Out on the way. When I got there, Micah met the kids outside, and they all sat around a banch, grubbing on some burgers and fries. I snapped a picture, and burned rubber out of there. I mean, do you know ho fast I can get things done without four chirping mouths?
Every morning my Pips comes out with the bounciest, springiest, cutest curl that goes right down the bridge of her nose. Sometimes I will try to pin it back for her so she can see, but she tells me not to, which is fine by me, because I love that girl with her curl.
My favorite after-school-is-out treat is a few days at Rancho Las Palmas. We have the very best time together. This year, after hearing my rave reviews, Britni joined in. It was perfect, because we shared a room which made it less money, and our kids didn’t stop playing for one second the whole time — I mean THE WHOLE TIME.
See for yourself:
We first stopped at the outlets for a little dinner and JCrew Outlet.
The kids were so antsy about getting to the hotel, we quickly drove on.
The second we got there, the kids went frog hunting, and Navy scored mightily. All of the boys were scared of catching them — but not my Navy.
After we set up the room, we went to bed.
But the second the sun came into our room, our kids geared up, and were immediately out frog catching again.
We got rad places at the pool — with shade, and blocked the kids up.
Britni brought Zinka, and it was a hit!
It was nonstop water and sand play all day long.
There is a water slide, a splash pad, a lazy river, a mini beach, etc.
The kids never stopped, except for a bite to eat.
After the pool, the kids went golf ball hunting.
They searched high and low for any golf ball they could get their hands on — and of course they scored with about a dozen.
Dash and Pippi took a break to eat, and feed the ducks.
After they had found every golf ball accessible, they went frog catching again.
We finally called a hault to their shenanigans, so we could go to the Old Spaghetti Factory for some dinner.
We then hit up a movie, where Pippi held my hand the whole time.
We obviously had to stop for ice cream for dessert!
We capped off the night with a little night swimming — of course.
And finally….FINALLY we hit the hay.
And you’d never guess who had good sleeps that night!
—
We woke the next morning, and started all over again!
This time we played Lazy River tag, which was so fun!
Then ate Dippin’ Dots.
And then Britni and I needed a nap, but instead we packed up and drove all the way home!
—
It was a jam-packed few days, but they are SO fun.
I hope my kids never grow out of this hotel.
NEVER!
What are these proud spectators watching???
Only our cutest girl who sang her heart out in this year’s 50’s themed performance.
We rushed back from Palm Springs for Navy’s performance.
We made it in just the nick of time, and she outdid herself.
Nice work little singer girl.
Nothing say a good morning like…
morning stories…
and breakfast in bed.
Dash’s version to his dad, was a sandwich roll covered in butter.
The best part is that he kept telling his dad to eat it.
How stinking cute is Dash.

Lessons to teach Dash: bring a plate and napkin (water if we are really pushing it), and clean up the whole half of the kitchen that is now covered in butter.
