We found out that Olympic Park was turning their ski jumps into a huge water slide today, so we went up to spectate.
It was amazing!
We brought a picnic, put out some blankets, and ate and watched the entertainment.
And then…we went to their ropes course.
Where one of the funniest stories unfolded!
The kids were all geared up.
Pippi tried to join in, but was too little.
Scout insisted on going first.
The course wasn’t that easy, so he had to take his time.
Then Navy went, and was determined to be on Scout’s heels the whole time.
She would have rather taken a fall then let him too far in front.
From below, we were all cracking up.
Navy is the ultimate tease, and Scout gets so bothered by her.
And here is the picture to prove it!
His frustrations just came pouring out of him in the form of tears and yells and, “Navy, you’re such an IDIOT”!
(He got in trouble for that one.)
It was actually hilarious to see unfold.
And the best part was when Navy said, “Scout, what am I doing? I’m not doing anything.”
YEAH RIGHT!
When Dash got on the course, there was no way he would have been able to do it by himself, so Micah geared up.
Dash loved it so much.
He thought he was a big guy.
He even took on obstacles he could by himself!
It was a really rad course.

But just when I thought the hilarity ended, another story crept up.
This may even be funnier!
It was pretty hot out. So when a double jogger stroller, that looked like ours at home, was sitting there with a drink cup in it, Pippi thought it was ours. I realized that she thought it was ours, and quickly told her it wasn’t ours, and that drink most certainly wasn’t ours! She kept telling me she was thirsty, and she kept eyeing that drink, so I watched her like a hawk.
Two minutes went by, five minutes went by, ten minutes went by.
She was patient, I was patient.
And then when she thought I wasn’t looking, she went in for the kill.
She was smart enough to not take an actual drink yet, but she rested her lip on that straw and watched me from the corner of her eye.
As soon as I turned more directly at her, she got up so fast!
Then she said, “I not take a drink”!
I guess I never told her not to rest her mouth on the straw??
Then we headed to the drinking fountain.
Then hit the slopes for a little snowboarding.
And finally got back to watch the water sliders.
I’m pretty sure these two can have fun wherever they are.
Papa just bought a new place in Midway. The location is amazing, and the views are insane. He has a creek right below his property, and a playground in his backyard. Looks like he is going to have some visitors this winter!
Tristen’s neighborhood has the greatest thing.
It’s an online garage sale that allows you to see other’s stuff, or post anything you want to get rid of.
Today, this minibike came up, and I told her…SOLD!
We checked it out, bargained, and got this little number for $35!
A new battery, and one screw is going to get this little baby back to new, and it is going to be rad!
Especially since these retail for over $250!
Now, I’ve got to get it home…
Micah found the raddest U-Pick Cherry farm.
There were a bazillion cherries - two varieties, and delicious.
It was a family-run orchard, tucked under the Wasatch mountains. My kids each filled up at least half a bucket. We had more cherries than we knew what to do with.
Well, one person knew what to do with them…she ate her way through those trees. And if she couldn’t reach, she got them off the ground!
After picking, we weighed in.
I bought cherries at Costco the week before for $8. It was equivalent to Pippi’s load. We now had about 10 times that amount, and paid $6!!!
It was a successful afternoon.
For everyone….because when we got home, we took fresh cherries to all the neighbors!
The lavender fields weren’t in full bloom quite yet, but they were pretty enough to stop and show my kids, take some pictures, and rub some fragrant flowers through our hands — creating our lavender oil hands to smell good all day.
Even Baby Blush got to enjoy the lavender.
Scout tried to get her to get up close and personal, but it didn’t totally work!
Dash loved the flowers.
I’m in love with this picture of him.

As we were driving out of the fields, Navy yelled, “STOP”!
So I stopped.
She opened the door, and I just knew she had found a treasure.
Nosy Scout followed.
And she found great treasures!
The biggest dandelions I have ever seen!
She handed them out to everyone, and everyone made a new wish this afternoon.
In Utah, we usually do about the same stuff.
I love all of it, but Micah wanted to add a few more things to our itinerary, and they were a hit.
At the top of the list was the Mona rope swings.
Scout and Navy were animals.
They jumped off of everything they could.
We kept hearing people say, “Look, that little girl is doing it. You can too.”
Scout was a beast, and was doing flips and trick by the end.
He didn’t back down from anything.
Meanwhile these two little ones were just swimming their hearts out.
But they got tapped out, and just rested and watched the Scout/Navy show.
After the ropes, they all swam out to these rad logs that were just floating in the pond and played on them.
Dash saw them, and got off his log, and swam out.
And they played and played, and then took a quick rest before playing again.
We went to WalMart, picked up a $10 pole and some bait, and headed down the road ten minutes to a fishing lake.
Navy and Scout took their turn at it.
Dash tried with his homemade pole that Scout made him.
Pippi ran around the field behind us.
Then Seth’s family came with a few of their poles.
Our fishing in this picturesque place wasn’t looking too good.
We caught zero fish, but had a few promising bites.
Just enough to get a little bug in us to go back to try again.
I love when siblings read together.
Especially when one can barely see through their hair.
This image is a permanent one in our house.
There is always a kid sitting on the counter, another in the chair, and they eat snacks that they haven’t asked permission to eat.
