Britni said she was playing with some new filters on her phone and sent me this rad picture. I know it wasn’t that long ago that we went to St. George, but this was so nostalgic to see. Especially against the hectic routine we are in during the school year.
But when she sent me this picture from the Doublewide days, I got really nostalgic!
I can’t imagine how bad my nostalgia will be in 20 years.
This is Pippi’s face, when I tried to explain that tomorrow is her birthday, and she is going to turn three.
Her look of confusion is because she has been telling people, when they’ve asked over the past year, “I’m thirteen”.
She is dead serious, although I don’t know if it really computes in her head.
But according to her, she is definitely 13.
So after our big discussion, I asked her how old she will be tomorrow, and she matter-of-factly replied, “I gonna be 16″!
Either this girl is trying master her diva pose.
Or, was she just annoyed that I was taking a picture of her?
Maybe it was a little of both.
I sprayed some “Honey Spray” into Pippi’s throat, because she was saying that it was really sore.
Apparently, she liked the taste, because I caught that little weasel trying to get drunk from that spray.
Needless to say, I put it up onto way higher ground.
But her slurred speech, from her tongue being numb, was pretty comical.
I LOVE General Conference.
I love the speakers, the music, my kids playing with Legos, and all of us trying to hear key words to get more points in our rad Conference game!
Nice work to Navy who beat out Scout by one point, and Dash by three points.
Micah took the boys this afternoon, and I took the girls. When he thought I should have been home, he texted and asked where I was. I sent back this picture, and asked him to guess where we were. He said he looked and looked, but had no idea. So Scout then asked to give it a try. He took a half-second look, and immediately said, “Oh…they are at the Japanese Dollar store next to Cafe Rio”.
Nice work my little sleuth.
He was right on the money.
The girls and I hit up Cafe Rio, and then the Japanese Dollar store for treats!
Micah said he was going to run the Dana Point Harbor stairs, so we joined his neck of the woods.
We parked and walked up the stairs with a few things to enhance our own fun.
Then we shot bows and arrows.
We climbed and hung from trees.
And an hour later, we packed up and headed out.
Poor Pips has had a rash for about six months. It’s called moluscum contagiosum, but we call it her “worms”. Down the left side of her body, she has bumps that are itchy, and look like a cross between a wart and a blister. You aren’t supposed to pick at them, because they can spread. And because there really isn’t a quick cure, the best thing to do is wait them out, and they will go away by themselves. But “waiting it out” is an 8 - 12 month deal. And that is a long time for a girl who itches, and a mom who likes to pick.
We are about 6 months in, and I can barely take it anymore. So this morning, I had a little picking fest. Pippi doesn’t love it, but in about 2 weeks, those bumps will be gone. (I know because Dash originally had this rash, and I took care of his quickly.) But when she was refusing my picking, I went and showed her the cute new crayon BandAids I got for her, and she relented just enough for me to clean up a few of her bumps. Poor little girl.
Nothing warms my heart more than when I see siblings helping siblings. So when I walked out this morning, to see Scout teaching Dash how to clean the windows during their Saturday morning chores, I was so proud of both of them. I was proud of Scout to take the time to teach Dash. And I was proud of Dash’s excitement to learn from his older brother. And I was proud of two boys, who took a moment out of their karate/fighting/wrestling schedule to get something worthwhile accomplished.
Megan stopped by to get Pippi on their way to the beach. She said Pippi was perfect. But when she sent these pictures, I’m pretty sure she only had perfect moments.
