Jumping and Eating

After you build up a huge appetite from jumping/bouncing/climbing/dodging, there is only one place to curb your hunger.

Obviously Cafe Rio.

The Fuzziest Nigh-Night

img_6051-2016-11-25-at-10-13-40.jpg
Pippi LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her nigh-night.  After her baths, she spreads it out, and wraps herself in it for 20 minutes.  When she is sad, it is the first thing she grabs, and it follows her everywhere she goes.  Therein, lies the problem.  Her nigh-night has accumulated hair, tape, strings of all sorts and anything else that long fuzz touches.  I personally find it disgusting, and even after washing it numerous times, it is still disgusting.  I don’t have the heart to tell Pips, that her nigh-night is going to disappear pretty soon.  I hope she doesn’t fall apart, but it has to happen.  I’m going to do my best to replace it with another blanket that is equally as cuddly and comforting, but I’m pretty sure this is going to be an uphill battle for me.
Keep us in your prayers.

Thanksgiving ‘16

As usual, Thanksgiving was a blast this year.
The only bummer, is that Micah is down and out recovering from getting his tonsils removed.
Poor him, that he can not enjoy all of the deliciousness this day has to offer.
But we didn’t let his recovery slow the rest of us down!

We started with the Turkey Trot — where all of my kids ran.
img_2467-2016-11-24-at-11-14-43.jpg
Even Pippi, who ran her heart out whenever she would see familiar faces.
img_2493-2016-11-24-at-11-40-11.jpg
But she would almost die after her sprints!
img_2490-2016-11-24-at-11-38-39.jpg
Here is the running gang.
img_2497-2016-11-24-at-11-40-52.jpg
And here are the girls who are always outnumbered in our family!
img_5994-2016-11-24-at-16-23-04.jpg
Afterwards, we headed over to Auntie Gail’s house for our first turkey dinner.
And of course we got pictures with the grand kids and great grand kids.
It was weird that this was our first year without great grandpa.
After we stuffed ourselves here, we headed back home to another humongous feast!
img_6019-2016-11-24-at-20-16-58.jpg
And after, we were all at Pippi’s beck and call to entertain everyone else from the table top.
img_6024-2016-11-24-at-20-27-36.jpg
She even got Nonnie on top of the table to jump!
Nothing beats family all together.
But family all together, while black Friday shopping is possibly the most top notch!
And because of that — the cool kids all headed out just a few short hours after our table top fun.

Cracking Eggs

Thanksgiving prep is so chaotic, that little girls doing things they shouldn’t, go under the radar.
When Nonnie had out all of the roll-making ingredients, Pippi saw a great opportunity to get some practice cracking eggs.
img_2501-2016-11-24-at-13-53-15.jpg
I think we would have all noticed sooner, but she was doing such a good job, we didn’t.
img_2505-2016-11-24-at-13-56-09.jpg
I think she was about six eggs in when someone finally pointed out what a good job she was doing!
img_2507-2016-11-24-at-13-56-22.jpg
And upon close inspection, there was not one shell in her eggs!
We were all so impressed, until Nonnie exclaimed that she needed every egg there was for her recipes!
Oopsies!

Scout’s Pumpkin Pie

Scout wanted to make pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving.
So we looked up a recipe, and he nailed it!
img_5946-2016-11-23-at-13-28-06.jpg
He chose Pippi to be his sous chef.
img_5952-2016-11-23-at-17-50-49.jpg
He completed four beautiful pies.
img_5961-2016-11-23-at-18-40-43.jpg
He obviously needed a taste tester — and he approved!

On Thanksgiving morning, he decorated them to gussy them up!
They were a hit, and everyone agreed they were delicious.

Tough Jobs

Who knew that it would be our oldest girl who would be called upon for the tough jobs!
Nice work Icka!

My Happy Place

When my two best friends are best friends themselves…the world is complete.
And how fitting is it that she is wearing the robe he made for her!

DraMicah’s Tonsilectomy

img_5926-2016-11-22-at-11-57-13.jpg
Watch out world … Micah is getting his tonsils removed.  I think everyone around him should prepare for “the worst tonsillectomy ever performed”!  Too bad for him, that our three kids just had theirs out, and were troopers.  And as an adult, I had mine out, and ate nachos one week out.  Somehow, I don’t think DraMicah’s recovery will be as speedy.

Christmas Is Coming

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!!
And Pippi is feeling the magic.

Church Duds

How stinking cute are these four weasels — even if Dash is mad that he didn’t get the rope swing to pose on.
