Some of my favorite mornings, are the ones that unfold before my eyes.  This early Saturday morning, my kids were stalling out before chores.  Instead of putting their shoulder to the wheel, they karate chopped Styrofoam, and Dash played “teacher”.  Scout’s karate moves had me in tears, and Dash’s personality had Pippi and I both cracking up.
Now go do your chores!

Neighbor Hooligans

After a church practice, I was looking for the usual suspects — namely Seth, Cade and Scout.  From far away, I could see naughtiness going on, so I drove closer to find the three of them on top of the storage shed in the back of the parking lot.  And of course the second I pulled out my camera, they were dabbing!

A Tea

Lucky me.  I was invited to be an honorary guest in Dash’s classroom, at the Mother’s Day Tea.
He sang to me, presented me with a flower barrette, served me “tea” AKA water and treats, and hand made me the most darling place mat.
I am not sure about proper etiquette at a tea, but I stuffed that place mat in my bag, because I wanted it forever.  When Dash saw that I was stealing it, he said, “Mom…don’t worry.  I made that for you to take home with you.  You get to keep it forever.”  When I audibly rejoiced, his smile couldn’t have been bigger.
Thanks for the invite Dash.  And thanks for the pampering.

Pretty Parties

When I sent out invitations for a summer “favorite things” party, I knew just the man to help me set up.
My partner in crime has the most amazing talent, and we work so beautifully together.

G Funk — I am pretty sure we should go into business together.  But then we will set it all up, and then watch the wind blow us in another direction.  Then we will have a good laugh, in some really great Bella Notte sheets, while watching a great movie in Britni’s garage!  Best Friends FOREVER!

Shark Hunters

For the first time in my life, we have had a real shark problem in our local beaches.  Last week, a lady was bitten by a great white.  Just yesterday, they had helicopters above the surfline telling people to leave the water “calmly” due to sharks about ten feet from them.  HOLY COW!  So this morning, I got the kids up extra early.  We headed to donuts, and then to the shark-infested waters.  We sat and ate, while we searched for dorsal fins.  It was crazy to see the warning signs posted everywhere.  After about ten minutes of no sightings, the kids went treasure hunting.  We were amazed at the loot the overnight tides brought up.

Scout found a horseshoe.

And our best reasure hunter Navy, found sunglasses and an IPhone.
My guess, is that a man riding a horse in the surf last night heard the helicopter warnings — and jammed out of there so fast, he left all of his personal belongings in his dust.

Security Camera

When Pippi realized that she could see herself on the security camera at the brake shop, she spent the next thirty minutes “seeing herself”.  In the meantime, she became great friends with Muhammad behind the front desk, because she could see him too.

Baja Fish Taco Dropout

Everyone who lives around here, knows that Baja Fish taco is one of the best restaurants in town.

Everyone, except Scout.  The boy who insists on my credit card to go to the next-door grocery store to get his own meal.  It is usually three peaches, or a few boxes of berries.  Today…he went fancy on us, and got blackberries and peanuts.
I have always been a fan of “solve your own problems”, so I applaud him in his solving.

NayNay Date Exchange

img_8679-2017-05-09-at-12-49-53.jpg
NayNay is in town, and wanted to take Pips on a date.  Our timing for the pick up was going to be tight, so I got Pippi, and all of her belongings on the side of the road for NayNay.  Pippi was cracking up that she was “on a chair on the sidewalk”.  But our plan worked — NayNay was there a moment later, and I got to where I was going on time.  That is called a win-win.

Sunday Attire

Scout always claims that he hung his church clothes up properly.  But until today — he has always fallen short.  CONGRATS SCOUT….to FINALLY…a job well done.

Well…sort of.

Pick Up Sticks

It isn’t usual that we have extra time before church to play games.  But this morning, Dash was stoked when his dad accepted his Pick-up Sicks challenge.  Not surprisingly, the-dad-who-never-gives-chancies Micah won.
