Micah….????

This book showed up very mysteriously next to the laundry I was folding……Micah???  I figured the mystery gift giver stopped short of the trash can….so I helped him/her out by dumping it there.  See how organized I am!

Scout’s First Love

p1010225.JPG

Up until lately, Scout has been a pretty serious little guy - we call him the “Thinker”.  Anyone felt like they won the lottery when he smiled, and if he giggled…..that was like winning the lottery twice!  Life changed about two weeks ago when I headed into Babies ‘R Us and picked up the Rainforest Jumper.  Scout is in LOVE!  Whenever I walk towards the room where the jumper is, he starts jumping in my arms in excitement.  While he’s in it, the kid never stops.  He just jumps and smiles and giggles the whole time!  We all think he is getting great practice for his future…..I think he might be a world class volleyball player.  Micah thinks he might be a high jumper in the olympics. My mom thinks he might be a ballerina.  Well, he does have the pointed toes down!

He Sits!

p1010211.JPG

For the first time today, I decided to see if Scout could sit on his own.  I placed him in the position, and seven minutes later he finally fell over.  He started this upright, and by the end was in a full slump.  Micah is convinced that he will be running around by Christmas, when he is 8 months old. (Don’t worry…I know that is a serious stretch!) However, Micah was running around at 9 months…..HOLY COW!

Will Cry For Food….

Tristen really wanted to get a feel for what being a “mom” feels like, so she asked if she could take Scout this morning and feed him, dress him for church, etc.  I said fine, but to have him there on time - which she didn’t.  On the way to church, my mom asked if I had ironed Scout’s outfit.  I told her that I hadn’t, and that ironing was a “mom’s” duty.  I then picked up my cell phone to remind Tristen that her duties included ironing.  She told me there was no way she was going to iron the outfit.  I told her she had to bring him in a nicely pressed outfit.  She said she would do that WITHOUT ironing!

Scene 2 –

I am sitting in church.  Skylar gets my attention to tell me that Tristen has arrived with Scout.  I look back, and there is the cutest boy I have ever seen wrapped in a darling church blanket.  I thought his hair looked a little odd as it was totally slicked down and looked like it was styled by Hitler’s same guy.  I figured she just had bad taste in baby boy hair.  Then it was obvious that Tristen was up to no good when the blanket fell down and I saw in HUGE white block letters…”WILL CRY FOR FOOD”.  Tristen had “found” a nicely pressed, terry cloth, bright blue onesie that had “will cry for food” written on the front.  My mom was mortified, and I laughed, nodded my head yes and gave Tristen the thumbs up signal.  My mom expressed her disgust, and Tristen said, “You are lucky I even had this outfit.  I was going to put him in one of my workout t-shirts and just tie the bottom in a knot.”  I have to admit…that would have been even funnier! I also have to admit that Tristen’s kids are doomed!

Guess who just didn’t have time?

The doctor ordered me to get a 20 minute foot rub each morning.  When I told Micah, he kind of giggled it off.  So these past two days, I assumed my husband would get up a few minutes early, and really deliver.  Well, I was WRONG.  The guy has time to head over to the Hemeon’s house to drop off his bike for his weekend trip.  He has time to take his 45 minute shower.  He has time to hit the snooze button.  But he just doesn’t have time for the woman who bore his child which is the reason this all happened in the first place!

Doctor’s Orders…

p1010189.JPG

Poor little Micah!  About half way through my pregnancy, my feet started to ache every morning when I would get out of bed.  I thought it would have eventually gone away, but since I had the baby, it has only been worse.  I finally went to see my foot doctor…and got the best news ever.  Apparently, I have post partum ??? (can’t remember the name, but it sounded fancy)   During pregnancy the hormone that relaxes all of the bones, can sometimes relax and irritate the bones in the balls of the feet.  A few months after I am done nursing, all should be back to normal, but in the meantime…..what can I do about it you ask???  Well, I can opt for physical therapy - but we all know I probably won’t “opt”.  I can take a daily antiinflammatory - but since I HATE to take pills because I am the “side effect queen” don’t count on it.  Lastly, Dr. Cachia told me of the best solution I have ever heard!  He prescribed a DAILY FOOT RUB!  He said it only needs to be about ten minutes per foot, preferably before I get out of bed!

When I called Micah and told him the good news, he said “I don’t believe you”.  I said, “I have the paper to prove it.”  He said, “I don’t doubt you have the paper, I just don’t believe that he really prescribed it.”  I said, “Well believe it, and feel free to call him and ask if you need to know for sure.”  He said, “Maybe I will.”  (Knowing full well that there isn’t a chance in the world he will.)  I sang, “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You…….Yes It Is Baby….. (repeat)”.

How Classic Is Tristen!

Tristen and Scummy were at the JT Concert, and ran into Jamie Lynn Spears.  This picture was on a paparazzi’s website!

Beacon Hill “beach” Tri

p1010175.JPG

Micah has been SO excited lately.  He has been looking forward to changing the venue of the Beacon Hill Tri to the beach.  He chose Capo Beach, and coursed out the whole thing from there.  In an effort to really get his loyal participants excited, and to make the BH Tri seem a little more legit, he built actual bike racks for the trasition area.  The race went off without a hitch, and all of the participants seemed to really like the course.  My brother David raced for the first time and had fun.  Afterwards, we went with both Hemeon families to breakfast.  David commented at least three times how amazed he was by the dissection and constant critique of the race after the race.  Basically, Micah and whomever like to talk about every detail of the race for hours…then days…then months….and actually even years.  They talk about the way to lace shoes, the turn at the 3rd corner, the best spot on the bike rack, blah…blah…blah.. blah…blah! After David commented, I just smiled with a glazed over look and “welcomed” him to my world!  I actually have fun, and love that Micah is so excited about his little race.  Nice job babe…..and I especially like the pink swim cap!

Grandma Bean…XOXO

gbean.jpg

Grandma Bean passed away last night.  She was 95 years old, and her husband passed away years ago - before I was around.  I always told her that I would try and track down President Hinckley for a date, but she just told me that she was “too old to date”!  Then I would tell her that I really wanted President Hinckley for a grandpa, and to take one for the team!  Luckily I just saw her about two months ago when my family was vacationing in Utah.  She was happy and darling as usual.  I am SO excited for her to go and meet up with her husband!  XOXO Grandma Bean!

I heart my MAC!

Tristen…the newest Apply store employee, got me to sign up for “OneToOnes” at the Apple store. My trainer Derick has been teaching me how to use my MAC, and all of the great capabilities it has. And there are a few important things I have learned so far. First, the Photobooth is pretty cool if you need a quick little snapshot. Second, Derick is one of the best trainers who responds VERY WELL to treats. And lastly, If I do bring treats to my sessions, I get extra sessions (three a week instead of one), and I also run into the next timeslot! Who says bribery is a bad thing!
