This is what a typical morning looks like over at our house.
Puzzles and more puzzles.
And Pippi trying to destroy those puzzles.
The only addition…this morning we got Nonnie in on the action.
That Dash has a way with Nonnie, and after he said, “Peeeeeaasse”, she got down and got to work!
These kids were up and at ‘em to make Micah’s Day awesome.
It was breakfast in bed.
Then a candy bow tie at church.
Followed by an entire day of soccer and basketball while Mama slaved over bread pudding that he gave his stamp of approval.
Phew.
Missy had us down to Abalone for an amazing Popsicle party.
Beyond the four Popsicles they each had…here is a typical afternoon at the beach for my kids:
Dash digs.
(This time he made a tunnel.)
Navy collects.
(This time it was sand crabs.)
And Scout gets wet.
(This time with Doey.)
Navy is heading to Kindergarten next.
But first…there was a little celebrating to be done!
For their last day, Navy’s teachers had a Hawaiian party.
She loved miss Debbie, Miss Kendra and Miss Leah!
And she really, really loved that Doey was in town for her party.
And may have loved even more….the face paint I personally applied.
What I didn’t love — temporary tattoos.
And she really went to town with them.
I didn’t love when her skirt went from her waist to her head.
And I especially didn’t love how everyone in the above picture managed to look nice except Navy.

Hopefully Chinese Kindergarten will whip you into shape Navy!
I was doing the laundry, and put Dash in charge of “folding” the rags.
I know this kid can dominate at puzzles and scooters….but I didn’t know of his hidden talent for laundry.
Because this kid straightened, “folded”, carried and put away…basically, this kid dominated!
…there are some really sweet moments between the Ultimate Tease and her Victim.
Like this afternoon when Dash was sad for a bit, but then got quiet.
When I looked to see what had changed his demeanor, I saw Icka just holding his hand.
She wasn’t in a seat belt….but I let it go.
He still had lipstick on from the night before….but I let it go.
For this split second in time….I let the peace and quiet reign.
This boy got in Nonnie’s permanent lipstick.
So I ran a bath and went to get him some pajamas.
Meanwhile, Dash got a hold of two brand new bottles of bubbles and dumped.
(Please note: I had put some bubbles in before I left, and told him not to touch them.)
Well, look who didn’t listen.
So we made a party of it….ring led by Bella!
Immediately before Scout stuck this piece of pasta in his mouth, I yelled out for him to stop!
I told him to go and wash his hands that second!
As he walked away, he grumbled, “I don’t even care if I eat with dirty hands”.
And then I called out to him, “Oh you will…when I am inspecting your booty at night with a flashlight and tweezers as I try to pull out the worms living inside you!”
Missy is full of magic for kids.
She was especially magical when she introduced Dash and I to the popsicle distributor today.
Let’s just say that our freezer is jam-packed full!
And this boy was the easiest side kick I could have ever asked for.
I guess all-you-can-eat popsicles will do that to a sidekick!
Bella got home and was so excited to see the kids, she even laid down to have her body traces with chalk.
And then Navy took a turn.
And then the Pips.
But her crawling has gotten too fast for me to capture her in a pic.
