The Shmickity Dickity Dock is the guy who has everything he wants. He is super practical, so he is kind of tough to buy for. So this year, I let each of the kids choose a gift for him that they could do together at the lake.
He got a Frisbee that monitors speed and distance, a hula hoop, a lawn mowers that blows bubbles, and some cool racquets with a ball.
And from his wife???
I got him two sets of trunks, that match Dash and Scout.
Just a really flexible girl…and another who is trying her hardest to be!
I am SOOO over school, I didn’t even send my kids to the last day. Both had already had their parties, and the last day was “reserved” for cleaning out their desks. Which they both did three days before. So I let them sleep in. Then I let them help me wrap presents for everyone. And then we went to school at our leisure, and handed out the gifts, and then got out of dodge!
Here are Navy’s sidekicks.
They are all grads of Mandarin Kindergarten.
Which is honestly a decent accomplishment.
And then it was time to hug Angel for one last time!
She is retiring, and we are all SOOO bummed.
She was my girl who made calls that said, “Lindsey…just a reminder that today is the last time to sign Navy up for Kindergarten. If you don’t, she will have to attend her homeschool.”
Thank goodness to my school office Angel!
Scout performed a skit at his very first Den Meeting.
He thought it was so fun and cool.
And when we left, he said, “Mom, I love Scouts.”
I’m so glad!
Just Navy and some of her besties on the second to last day of school.
We had huge sponge wars at school today. Good thing Navy offered to help me clean the sponges out. So I told her the best way I thought to do it. But she disagreed…
And chucked them all in the pool.
Then she laid out while they soaked.
And then she gathered them up and organized them by color before putting them all away.
From a girl who never-ever-EVER sits in her high chair, I was amazed to see her sitting patiently in a big girl chair.
I guess from the time she was 5 months, she knew she wanted to be with the big kids … and nowhere else!
Little did I know that Scout had signed up for the poem contest at school.
Little did I know that these were Chinese poems.
Little did I know that he should have been wearing nice clothes over his trunks and rash guard.
Little did I know that I was supposed to be there.
Good thing someone asked me if I was going to be there, so I ran from party set-up to video him.
I thought he did a pretty good job.
Then I ran out afterwards.
I later asked Auntie (one of the judges) how he did.
Never to be one who inflates her response, she said, “He did average”.
Today…I’ll take average.
Just a boy and his bike in Walmart.
I finally put a stop to it when he tried to ride out the door as I was checking out.
Good thing the checker thought it was darling.
Because of a “standing up” problem, Scout has been forced to take a seat.
Look who isn’t following the rules!
Good thing I checked.
