Say it ain’t so!
Did Nonnie finally get her girl who loves baby dolls?
Pippi strolled and strolled her babies this afternoon — so Nonnie is crossing her fingers.
(Hint: Pippi, if this is really a passion of yours….wear it loud and proud. Because Nonnie has been wanting to buy dolls for years…and her money has been burning holes in each and every pocket she owns to start the doll-buying frenzy!)
Just some handsome Strippling Warriors that came to primary via time machine!
It was an eventful Saturday morning.
Filled with Legos.
And the park.
Where Pippi proved to be as dare-devily as her older sister.
Then there were Nerf gun wars.
And “Navy’s Water Shop” where the gun fighters could “git yor free wotr”.
And where Pippi the coworker, kept sneaking sips behind the owners back.
Just a purse-carrying girl in her make-shift car seat.
While Dash has his swim lessons, Pippi floats. And she floats the whole time — 30-45 minutes. She is really good at first. And soon as she starts getting fidgety, I give her a sucker. And when she finally looks at me and yells (see above), I get her out, and she cuddles me for ten minutes.
Even though this guy has cancer — he isn’t going through chemo.
He just wanted to get a short cut, because Matt Lauer is his hero.
(Or so I am guessing?!)
Love you dad!
Just a mother taking her baby for a stroll — all while matching.
And then a terror trying to ruin the good times.
Every Thursday my little ones get excited for their playdate with Navy and her friends.
Today — we stopped at the Nellie Gail park.
And ended at the teeny slice of shade on the front lawn at school.
I don’t think there is a mom out there who is more “over” school than I am! And since both of our kids had substitutes today, Micah and I let them sleep in. We were anxious to see what their reaction would be when they woke up late and realized that they were late for school. I thought they would freak out, and run down to tell us we had slept in. Micah thought the opposite. So when we finally woke up, and found them watching cartoons, and saying, “Can you believe it….mom and dad don’t even know we are missing school”, Micah turned out to be right.
After a quick scold, we told them it was all planned, and that they were getting the surprise of their lives — we were going to Knotts — they were so excited!
Navy was just a hair shy of the height limit - so we stuffed her shoes with socks and toilet paper, and she got on all but one ride.
We basically had no lines all day, except for Ghostrider. But we played “hot hands” in line to pass the time.
Navy was pumped that she didn’t get too wet on the water ride — that was poor daddy’s role.
We all had our game faces on for the new laser-shooting ride.
Looks like Daddy took the win.
Scout was decently tentative about the roller coasters at first. Especially Boomerang because it went backwards and upside down. But Navy did it with me, and we loved it. About an hour later, Scout wanted Navy to do something….so she told him she would if he went on Boomerang. (Smart girl) He said he would…so we walked over, and he did! And like all things in life for Scout, once he does something, and realizes it isn’t scary, he is fully committed.
So Micah and I sat on a bench, while Scout and Navy went on Boomerang about 6 times in a row.
And it ended up being Scout’s favorite ride.
The log ride was great.
And this is the first time Scout actually enjoyed it.
So much, that he ran on, and went by himself a few times with total strangers!
We finished at Camp Snoopy, where the kids seemed a little big for the baby rides — especially after the coasters!
We stopped off at Mrs. Knott’s chicken dinner.
Scout wanted a bucket of cotton candy, so we told him he could if he ate all of his corn.
(It was nasty — straight from a can.)
He wouldn’t.
So Navy pulled his plate over and was going to do it for him.
10 bites in, we made her stop, because the store had closed….and we all laughed that she ate any of it at all!
We finally made it to the car.
We weren’t even out of the city, when I turned around to see both kids zonked out.
And if you look closely, I think these kids went to bed with smiles on their faces.
Dash and I get a whole lot of time together while Pippi naps and the others are at school.
Some of my favorite days are Mondays, when he becomes my little helper.
As my laundry helper, I promised him a warm laundry dump, if he would help me put it away after I folded it.
Then, for the first time, he was my grocery helper. And he is the only child I’ve ever had who didn’t bump into anyone while pushing his own cart — and was calm, cool and collected. To prove that….two other moms told their kids to look at him as a good example.
And finally, as my plant helperer — he watered. And I promised him some of the very fruit he watered.
