I was working on my computer this morning when I heard the FaceTime call come through. It is always Tristen, and she is always looking for Dash. So I clicked accept, and then continued working. We exchanged pleasantries, and after about 2 minutes, she asked me if I could see her. I told her no — as I typed away. Then after a few minutes, when I was finished with my stuff, I exited out of my stuff to finally see her on FaceTime.
And this is what I saw….
I screamed!
It is a blasted miracle!
When this 3rd In Vitro works all the way through to give us a baby — or better yet, babies….I will be the happiest aunt on earth!
Missy Clause strikes again!
When I came home from a long weekend of baptism and farewell stuff, I came home to a sweet treat and note on my front step.
Just a bag full of my favorite — washi tape.
Not only do I adore this girl — but Dash was loving Missy Clause during his nap today.
When he got up, he said, “Mom, I was just looking and looking and my beautiful arm.”
I think that Cade may have given the best farewell talk I have ever been to. He was funny, and heartfelt at the same time. And when he choked up about leaving his dad for the time being, we all got choked up right alongside him. But talk about a missionary who is prepared, and ready to serve. I cross my fingers that my boys (and hopefully girls) will be equally as prepared.
After church, we headed over and hung out as long as we possibly could.
And I made sure to carve his name on the missionary tree — right under Jake’s name.
We were all trying to get in as many hugs and kisses as we could, to mask our sadness.
But there was no acting with this girl.
Her devastation was written all over her face.
Just some crab legs on the barbie for breakfast!
Our buddy Roger got a huge fresh crate of these — so we were the lucky recipients of what Roger, Tacky and Micah didn’t eat.
—
I have always been the lover of the crab leg. When I was only about 8 years old, our family went to the Rusty Pelican for dinner. And when it came time for me to order, I asked for the crab legs. My mom gasped that I would have such a tall order, but my dad let it go through. And when they came, I ate every last bite. Now….all of these years later, I love them as much as I did when my dad let me order them then!
I wish I knew what I was doing behind a camera. But with a decent camera, and good looking subjects, I can usually cheat my way through. That being said, I told Megan to bring up some clothes, because I wanted to take a few pictures of their family before Bry shaved his head due to chemo. And then we put together clothes for Ashley’s family to do the same.
And we were all really happy that we did, because they turned out really cute.
Today was a very exciting day for us, because Scout got to be baptized!
Here is the program that gives a rundown of the day.
He chose Jakey to be the one who baptized him — which was really awesome to see.
And the perfect Uncle Bryan to confirm him.
We had a lot of loved ones able to make it and support Scout.
Including some of his very best friends.
And family.
Scout, we are all very proud of you. And especially proud of the good boy you have become.
We love you!

And after?
We obviously went to the loudest place on earth — it was quite the juxtaposition — Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor.
It’s tradition, since I went there after my very own baptism 30 years ago!
You’ll never guess what caterpillar collector was at it again?
I think she landed 8 this time.
These three were enamored for a really long time by these little guys.
And then Dash realized it was time to skate.
I got this Email from Scout’s teacher today:
-
“Hello Lindsey,
Today Scout did an EXCELLENT job during English! He was on task the entire time and truly enjoyed the assignment. He not only completed the assignment in class but also used his best handwriting — I haven’t seen his neat writing for a while. For his in class performance, he went a clip up.
Happy Wednesday!
N. Lee”

Obviously I was beyond thrilled! I read him the EMail. I celebrated his good work. He ran to the car after school to tell me he moved up a clip, and the teacher was so happy with him…so obviously we went for a treat.
Just take a look!
I was so impressed, and quite honestly…didn’t know he had it in him to write so nicely.
Nice work Scout!
(But does this mean that all of the times I erased your work, and had you redo it -only to get a little bit nicer chicken scratch- you were conning me the whole time?!?)
Navy kept asking me how to spell “ik”.
I wasn’t sure why, but told her I thought it would just be i-k….or possibly i-c-k.
Her letter to her school teacher….”You are a good teacher. When I grow up, I want to be like you…”
And the she asked how to spell “specially”, to finish her letter with “ik specially how nice you are.”
My sick girl came back for another 30 minute cuddling session.
I’m loving this!
And that little photo bomber in the back.
