I die over going to Baby Beach right before sundown for a photo shoot.
The lighting is amazing, and the backdrops are pretty amazing too.
So tonight, I grabbed the kids and stuck them in their coverups and headed down.
This was one of the two where I got them all together.
Because this weasel turned naughty!
Good thing these three were cooperative and sweet.
They were so sweet, I let Scout and Navy run off and play while I shot Pippi for a bit.
She has turned into such a good little baby, it is amazing!
See!
Even when her mouth is full of sand, she stays good!
In the meantime, Dash took to pushing Scout off the ledge.
And like any good photographer, I turned my photo shoot to what they were enjoying rather than what I wanted to capture.
Cause, this little daredevil was thoroughly enjoying his jumping.
No matter what was below!
(No worries — this is an optical illusion.)
And then it was time to rinse off and get home.
But I had to snap one last picture against that amazing wall.
Almost 16 and almost 7 months.
Best friends for life!
Easter was great as usual.
The Easter get-ups were great.
Church was great.
The cousin picnic was great.
The egg hunt was great — even for those who retrieved theirs out of a dirty diaper!
The loot was great — especially for Icka who found the $50 egg!
The confetti eggs were great!
This little girl was great — until I made her wear her newborn bunny hat!
But all was back to great when she tried her very first milkshake and devoured it!

Happy Great Easter!
Pippi was so teeny tiny when she was born, that none of her jewelry fit her. But now — at 6 months, she has finally been able to sport her jewels! She is still a ways off for the gold bangle that Navy wore as a baby, but I bet she will be in it by 8 months.
My two girls this morning:
One is sweet, clean and nice.
The other one is Navy.
I am always the favorite of my kids.
But lately, Nonnie has been making some real strides with Dash.
Some of it has to do with her getting him out of bed in the morning.
Some of it has to do with the treats her purse always has.
Some of it has to do with the same three Sesame Street videos she shows him on the computer.
But most of it has to do with the fact that she is just his Non.
In Cancun, I noticed Navy had kind of red cheeks and they were pretty dry.
Then when we got home, it seemed to be getting worse.
i knew at this point that we were dealing with a rash and not any sort of sunburn.
I Internet diagnosed it as Fifth’s Disease.
AKA Slap Cheek Disease.
I told everyone there was nothing I could do about it and that we needed to wait it out.
“They” told me that I needed a real diagnosis.
Good thing Carruthy is on my speed dial.
Bad thing that he reinforced my diagnosis.
Worse thing that there is a glitch with out insurance at Carruthys and I might be paying an arm and a leg for this reiteration.
Mom….the bill is in the mail!
I love Trader Joes. And so do my kids — for many reasons.
They love to find the monkey to earn a sucker.
They love to get dozens of stickers at the end.
They love the free sample of usually lemonade.
They love that I let them eat throughout the store (usually a banana).
I’m just not sure that they love being stuck in their spots, while I balance all of the groceries around them.
About 30 minutes after I get Scout off to school, the other three wake and trickle in.
This morning, I tried to capture an hour or so of the current daily grind.
Pippi eats and then hangs out under her toys while practicing rolling over.
Dash and Navy come in and Navy makes them a spot to all cuddle.
Dash wanted something to drink. And because I didn’t move fast enough, he got his own cup and “water”. As a good mom should, I let him sample a cup of white vinegar — so he would never make that mistake twice.
Then the Pips got a place on the couch where she spent some time admiring and playing with her little tootsies.
Finally — breakfast and baths.
And then — a quick (and secret) search of Nonnie’s purse to find a “teat”.
I am always in awe at how good-natured my mom is to find her purse in shambles almost daily.
But, I blame her for always grabbing an extra handful of mints at every restaurant she goes to.
You know what they say –
“One person’s shameful grab is another person’s treasure!”
Dash is a puzzle master!
He is amazingly good at them. He puts them together all by himself over and over again! It is a great thing if I need 15 minutes to get something done. But it works against me when he wants me to “watch this” AKA watch him put it together the whole way. I really love supporting and cheering him on. But a mom needs a puzzle break every once in a while!
But even if I need a break — when I see him kiss his puzzle after he is done because he is so proud, there I sit….watching and cheering.
