At 9 1/2 months, Dash has had a TON of firsts lately.

He climbed his first stairs at Ashley’s house in Utah.  He has not stopped since, and has never slipped up or fallen back.

-

He attempted standing on his own for the first time while we were in Utah.  I am sure he could be much further along on this front, but I never work with him because I want him to stay my baby forever.

-

He has picked up a bunch of new tricks, including the hand-over-your-mouth over and over to make the Indian sound.  (Although ti is particularly cute when he does it because he uses the back of his hand in a very loose manner.)  He has also become a pro at waving “bye-bye”.  But my very favorite so far is when he leans his head on anyone and gives them zerberts.  They are the most slobbery zerberts around, but they are kind of to-die-for.

-

He is a really good communicator.  He lets me know if he wants water or food or doesn’t want to go to bed.  Based on his sound responses alone, I know what this boy wants!  But nothing beats when I am feeding him and he has had enough.  As I lift the spoon to him, he purses his lips and nods no.  I love it so much, I try to offer the same thing about 20 times to get him telling me “no” over and over again.

-

He still loves me the most.  I would say that Nonie is a close second, and he adores his brother and sister, but I am still #1 — exactly where I like to be.

While we were in Utah, he ended up in my bed almost every night.  And he is a perfect sleeper.  He doesn’t move a ton, and cuddles right into me.  Many nights, he would lay his head right on top of mine and fall sound asleep.  As long as we were touching in some way, he was happy and in dreamland.

This boy is the BEST!
