Always Modeling

img_4894-2017-09-07-at-12-33-16.jpg
When a package arrives in the mail, I think Pippi is the most excited.  Navy will always try stuff on, but many time begrudgingly — but she always does it, and is a good sport.  Pippi, on the other hand, will see a package and flip out over it.  When it is opened, and it’s Tupperware or anything else from Amazon, she is so let down.  All she wants on our front door, are packages with pretty little things in it for her to model!

Hot Sauce

img_4902-2017-09-07-at-18-37-07.jpg
My poor boy has had a potty mouth lately.
I have warned him about “hot sauce”, and today was the day.
Although he was kind of laughing when he took it down, the kick came.
Afterward, he said, “MOM!  That wasn’t hot sauce.  That was Tobasco!”
I told him Tobasco is hot sauce!
Poor guy tried to cool his potty mouth off with mint gum.
I told him bread and milk where what he should look for…and he ran!

Constant Creations

img_4895-2017-09-07-at-13-09-42.jpg
Navy is constantly creating.
This isn’t her own creation, but she got a hold of this master creation, and has major goals to create it.

Especially since it has more than one cool trick.
It wasn’t before we were home from school, that she and Scout were dissecting how to make it.
Let the folding begin!

Ballet Teacher

Just a ballet teacher teaching her young and untrained students.
She finally was disgusted with them, and told them to both practice harder.

Pipp’s First Day of Ballet

img_3845-2017-09-06-at-13-23-24.jpg
Not only did Pippi have her first day of school today, but she also had her very first day of Ballet!
She was so excited about ballet, it was the cutest thing.  She kept asking about it, and practicing for it.  It was literally the cutest thing I have ever seen.

img_3861-2017-09-06-at-13-28-58.jpg
She tried so hard during the stretching.
She didn’t get everything right, but she was listening very closely, and trying to follow the rules.
img_3877-2017-09-06-at-13-34-20.jpg
She was amazing at the somersaults.
Maybe the best in the class.
img_3900-2017-09-06-at-13-51-54.jpg
And she did a very good job at doing what she was supposed to.
Several of the other kids had a hard time, but Pippi stayed right on task.
She made me very proud.
img_4880-2017-09-06-at-13-45-33.jpg
And can you believe the good fortune she has to have all of these cute friends that are her age?!
They are all in class together, and they all loved it — except Beaux.
img_3904-2017-09-06-at-14-12-33.jpg
I think her face says it all.
She was ear-to-ear smiles as she practiced her somersaults, stretches and dance the rest of the day!

Pippi’s First Day of School!!!!!

img_3818-2017-09-06-at-08-39-59.jpg
Today is Pippi’s first day of school!  She is still three, but almost four..and is SO excited!
She has been looking forward to this day for a long time.
img_3826-2017-09-06-at-08-40-47.jpg
All of the backpacks at BYU were too big for our little pre-schooler, so we found this darling bag in France.
She was so excited to get all gussied up for her big day, and she even put treats in her backpack for after school snack.
img_4838-2017-09-06-at-08-18-34.jpg
As we drove to school, I told her the very first official HERO story.  She listened intently about the girl who was a little scared, but was extra nice, and made all of the other little scared kids happy.  She told me she really likes HERO stories.  Then after the gate, we got to “Prayer Hill” where all of my kids have said their morning prayers on their way to school.  Today she said, “Please help Jesus to know that I am a big girl now”.  That’s pretty cute.
img_3831-2017-09-06-at-08-56-24.jpg
And just like she said, she was a total big girl, as she walked into school loud and proud.  She didn’t turn back for reinforcement at all.  She had this.

Of course she is going to Ms. Dianne.  How could I send her anywhere other than the best preschool, with the best teacher ever?!
img_3834-2017-09-06-at-09-02-24.jpg
After dropping off her backpack, and giving Ms. Dianne a love, I escorted her to the play room, and she literally looked back like “Is this all really mine”!?!
I told her that she got to play with everything, and she could barely lift her eyes to say goodbye.
Clearly, preschool won’t be a hard transition.
Have fun my little girl.
You are my last, and the other three have trail blazed this path for you.
Enjoy.

Curlers

img_4836-2017-09-05-at-20-23-31.jpg
How lucky am I that Nonnie thinks curled hair is important.  Navy gets curlers a few nights a week, and I swear that it makes her hair in the morning a thousand times easier — AND A MILLION TIMES CUTER!
I was glad to see that Pippi had natural curl in her hair, so we would never have to put curlers in her hair!

Unfortunately, Pippi likes the novelty of it.
So lately, when Navy gets her hair “set”, so does Pippi.

Morning Scriptures

img_4827-2017-09-05-at-06-37-39.jpg
Our morning scriptures look a little different this year.  Now, with Dash in the mix, there are three kids in the bed.  Usually two start in the bed, and when I wake up the third, he/she join the others under the covers (usually weaseling into the middle spot “because it is the warmest”).  I grab their outfits, and put them on top of the covers.  Sometimes, they grab their outfits and cuddle them to warm them before getting dressed.  Meanwhile, I sing a song I learned from girl’s camp many years ago — “Rise and Shine…”  then I say, “Say your name if you can hear me”.  They all muster up the energy to call out their name.  Then I read a few pages out of the scriptures.  The last two years have been awesome, as we have finished the whole Book of Mormon in the school year.  Our goal is to do it again this year.  After, I give them a quiz question to see if they retained any of it, and they never miss one.  It’s impressive.  Then they all race to get ready.  The first one who gets ready (clothes on, teeth brushed, hair done) gets to go and get the cereal bowls and spoons out and ready.  The second one ready gets the lunches out of the freezer or backpacks, so they are ready for me to make.  And the third one has to make the bed.  You can imagine, there is stiff competition.  In fact, the kids try to get dressed on the sly under the covers to make sure they aren’t third!
I love most parts of my day with the kids.  But I think our solo time in the morning is my favorite.  There are funny jokes made, great conversations had, and most of all — everything around us is quiet, so there are literally no distractions to take away from our time…even if it does seem like an unreasonable hour to be up.

Cousins At The Beach

img_4821-2017-09-04-at-14-24-31.jpg
Is there anything better than a beach day with cousins?
YES!
A beach day with cousins, where I get to stay home and make a feast for the post-beach return.
img_4820-2017-09-04-at-13-07-24.jpg
Megan and Bryan wanted an afternoon at three arch, and they willingly took the kids — like they always do!
img_4822-2017-09-04-at-14-46-02.jpg
My kids had a blast — like they always do!
img_4824-2017-09-04-at-15-41-20.jpg
And Scout thought he was big enough to jump off the cliff — like he isn’t supposed to!

My mom and I made ribs, and it was a good day.
A really good day.

Golfing Neighbors

img_4815-2017-09-04-at-23-08-06.jpg
You know you have rad neighbors, when the dad takes his boys, and your boy to the golfing range to just hit a few buckets of balls.
Apparently, Scout has a decent swing.
Thanks Hansens.
