Dash is following in his parent’s footsteps. This boy is a lover of all games. But strategic games are at the top of his list.
Game Lover
Soap
These two have been really into “potty talk” lately. It has been out of control, and after many talks…I took a more drastic approach. Upon hearing a particularly “potty” conversation, I asked them to both come talk to me. I made each open their mouth because they needed to be washed out, and then gave them a bit of soap to do the washing. As I spoke to them about potty talk, they were holding their mouths with as much air in them as possible so they couldn’t taste the soap. But then I asked them a few questions, and their answers got the soap swishing. After our talk, I told them they coud go wash it out, and they ran like a pit bull was chasing them.
Meanwhile, Navy got them some bread to help with the taste. And then they sat for the next 20 minutes laughing and talking about how bad it tasted, and how they would “never never” do it again.
I’m not crossing my fingers.
Snack Lady
Pippi has been cruising around all afternoon with snacks for everybody. She seems to think that starbursts that are pulled apart, and have landed on the floor several times would be very appealing to eat. By the looks of things, she hasn’t unloaded too many. Good thing she had a few gummy bears that were working for people.
My Old Sweater
This little weasel has stolen my sweater. One day I wore this sweater to church, and Dash cuddled up to me like we were magnetic. Then he took part of it in his right hand to feel through his fingers, and stuck his two fingers in his mouth to suck. For an hour, he was doing this, and I had to keep readjusting the sweater to make sure I was properly covered as he tugged on it harder and harder.
When we got home, as soon as I took the sweater off, he put it on, and walked around in his new-found DayDay. He loves it so much, and the fact that he can envelope himself in it makes it the ultimate blanket of all time. I told him I need my sweater back, and he just nods no (while sucking his fingers) and walks off. This morning, he came out of bed with my old sweater. I thought it would be easy to swipe, because he wasn’t wearing it this time. My one attempt failed, and he has been watching me out of the side of his eyes ever since.
Marriott Pool
It seemed like the perfect pool day today.
It also seemed like the perfect Marriott day today.
You can’t beat ping pong with a view.
Towels at your disposal.
And Adirondack chairs all set up in a row.
It’s true…it all ended up being perfect.
Proud Boy
Not only did Dash surprise Nonnie by making her bed today.
He did a perfect job!
And it isn’t easy to haul around king-sized comforters and Euro shams for a new six year old…but he sure made it look that way!
The best part…he was so proud of himself all day over it.
A Night Out
I love nights like these.
First off, Doey came up for a few days…RAD.
Then we headed to Dana Hills for a meteor shower…RAD.
Then we went on tour of the Dana Point Christmas lights at about midnight…RAD.
Finally, we went on a zombie hunt. We found one digging in the senior center trashcan…NOT SO RAD.
Lost and Found Part 2
For the second time, Navy found one of our shoes in the Bergeson lost and found. First, she found an actual pair of Dash’s shoes when we went to put teacher door posters up. this time, it was the solo match to Pippi’s shoe that we have searched high and low for. Apparently, it must have fallen out of our car, when the kids are getting in at the end of the day. It’s funny, because I always say “make sure nothing falls out”, and they always say, “nothing did”. Hmmmm?
She’ll Pay for It
Pippi has really started to notice her bank lately. She knows it has money in it, she knows that money buys things, and she knows that she wants things. So lately, Pippi has suggested things she wants, and then says, “I’ll even pay for it.” She has been charitable too, as she has offered to pay for new paint on the wall she dinged. Today’s request was the best. She said, “Nonnie…i want to go to Hawaii.” Then she ran to get her bank, and said, “You can take all of my money to pay for it.”
Too bad $20.73 won’t pay for a round trip flight.
Nightly Prayers
This is Pippi’s evolution of a prayer.
Every single night.
It amazes me that not one of my kids can stay perfectly still for the whole minute and a half each night!
