Sephora

Pippi went to town at Sephora today.  When I saw her, I told her she went a little heavy handed.  She told me she didn’t really like it, but that it was okay, “because it is a beautiful color.”  I didn’t agree with her sentiment, but let her have her personal style all afternoon.  My thoughts were echoed by her siblings who got in the car after school and asked Pippi, “What happened to your face?”  Then she demanded a wipe.

Love Messages

Micah went out of town during the busy month of December, and left me to tend life by myself.  He needed me to get on his computer each day to help him with something, so I told him, “Fine…I will do your work, and mine while you are off in Baja.”  He must have felt a bit bad (yeah right)…but each day I got on his computer, I found these alerts for “him”.

Clearly, these were for my eyes to see!
Babe…feel free to go out of town more often.  It relieves me of dinner duty, gives me 100% of the remote, and fills my wife/mom cup to the brim.

Where’s Maldo

When I was asked to participate in Where’s Maldo, I decided to let Pippi be the “ballerina” on the list of people to find.  It was awesome, because when everyone saw me, I just acted like I was surprised to see them, while my kids played on the playground.  It was laps and laps around the mall before anyone discovered that Pippi was the ballerina!

And when they finally figured it out, the best part was her “signing” everyone’s paper!

Pippi’s ABC Christmas Show

img_6692-2017-12-06-at-10-38-12.jpg
Pippi got in her Christmas best for the big Christmas show today!  I love this show — especially the manger scene.  She sang the songs really cute, and was darling to watch.
UNTIL…
img_6699-2017-12-06-at-10-49-31.jpg
She was the shepherd boy,  and got the “bad” sheep!
She was not happy about her last pick of a sheep, and pouted the whole time.
I laughed, and she kept whispering, “stop it”!

Good thing the baby Jesus lifted that little shepherd boy’s spirits!

And she was back to all smiles when she gave me the cute ornament she made for our tree.
Yay for Christmas!

Choir Crasher

When we barely got a terrible seat for Scout’s multi-school choir performance, I was bummed that Pippi had to sit on my lap.  That is…until I got the bright idea to send her up to Scout.  During the songs, Pippi sat next to Scout, and when he sang, she sang.  And when he stood, she stood.  And when he bailed out 30 minutes early, she bailed out 30 minutes early!

Festive

For her Christmas Choir performance, Navy insisted on dressing festive.  She said everyone would be decked out, and she needed to look good.

She chose her own outfit…and I’d say she looks festive!
Maybe the most festive of the bunch.
And she wore it with pleasure and pure confidence!

Pippi As A Mom

Tonight, after I tucked Pippi into bed, she called out, “Mama…do you know what I am going to be when I am a mama?”  I asked her, “what”?  She said “Pregnant!”
Then she described the birthing process in greater detail than I even knew that she knew!
YIKES

Makeup Bag

B came over with the greatest treat Pippi has ever received.  As B is cleaning out her house — getting ready to move, she keeps bringing treasures over to my kids.  Today was Pippi’s turn, and she inherited her very own makeup bag filled with makeup samples from years of Trilby’s makeup buying.  Pippi spent 20 minutes telling me what everything was, and how it is used.  Then she went into her makeup mirror, and applied everything about eight times each.

Whoville

For four months, these little ballerinas have been practicing their Whoville dance.

Today was the big performance, and Pippi nailed it.  Except the time she was twirling, and did a few extra twirls until she realized she needed to move on to the next part.  But I can’t complain, because Goldi didn’t move one muscle the entire time.  She just stared everyone down — and then ruined another group’s dance while she pouted in front of the dancers, because she couldn’t find her mom in the audience.  Britni was dying — and I was cracking up!  It was a fun little afternoon in Dana Point, while I watched my little girl grow up right in front of my eyes.

Waiting Surfers

img_6603-2017-12-02-at-10-24-30.jpg
Just two surfers, waiting for their buddies with boards to show up.  I told them to ask Santa for surfboards, so they don’t have to ever wait — but we will have to wait and see if they have been good enough this year to get such a treat!
