Walk Through the Revolution

Scout informed me at 7am this morning, that he needed a King George III costume.  I told him that he was on his own.  Good thing we have a stocked costume cupboard, and he came up with a great costume!  Then at 7:05am, I was invited to his “Walk Through The Revolution”.  I went, and he had three speeches memorized.  When he got up as King George III, he even gave his speech with a British accent.
For not even knowing about this project, I was rather impressed with what he put together.
Thank you Scout for not humiliating me.
And thank you Scout for doing it all by yourself.
This was a win-win.

Painting Navy

img_8020-2018-03-11-at-21-28-50.jpg
I love this picture of Navy.
I have alwasy thought it would be such a cool picture to make into a painting.
So I tackled it myself.
HAHAHA!

Somehow she went from being cute, to stiff!
If only had an artistic eye.
But Navy was so cute…she said she wanted it in her room.  I refused, but she really liked it.  We put it outside to dry, and two weeks later it was still wet.  I guess my paint went bad over the 8 years of not using it.
So problem solved.
This un-masterpiece went straight into the trash.

Skills

img_8012-2018-03-11-at-12-51-10.jpg
Navy has serious skills.
Here is her inside out braid.
I even have a tough time getting these tight against the head.
When she showed me the picture, I was shocked at how good it was.

Barnes and Noble

On this rainy day, we headed to Barnes and Noble.

Where Navy practiced her amazing skill of ventriloquism.

And Pippi gathered up some “students” to teach.

Spring School Pics

Even though I never buy the school pictures, I like the kids to look decent for them.

I thought Dash looked darling with his toothless smile.

Navy always looks cute, even though her hair looks like it needs a good cut.  (Should have curled it.)

And Scout.
On top of his horrible hair he styled right before the pictures…he practiced his new heinous smile we told him he should never do!
(The best part– his teacher thinks he is hilarious…which totally gets him going!)

Ugly Dolls

Over the years, my mom created a collection of ugly dolls for me.  Every few Christmases I would receive the ugliest dolls, and my family would just crack up at me getting them.  I stored them away for many years — in all places, the bottom of my ski bag.  Who know why???  But this year, when I saw them, I knew just the girl who might appreciate them.

Today, I realized that my littlest is kind.  She will be the best mama to all.  She took these heinous dolls, and loved them and rocked them and took great care of them — all day long!
I have always thought Pippi was a chip off the old block.  But when I got those same dolls, I threw them across the room, and then stuffed them away in my ski bag.
My hat is off to you Pippi.

Locked Door

img_7982-2018-03-05-at-18-26-45.jpg
We have a rule in our home…no locking doors.
So when Pippi tattled that Dash was locking doors, I summoned him to repeat our rule.
He listened patiently, but then told me he had a good explanation.
Apparently his little sister was chasing him with a metal pan, and was trying to hit him.  I looked over to see a smiling girl with buck teeth, so I knew it was true.  He explained to me that he usually doesn’t lock doors, but this time, it was “appropriate”.
I agreed.

Recess Spy

img_7978-2018-03-05-at-11-57-23.jpg
I was at school for something, and I saw Navy head out for recess.  I love to see my kids in their element, so I went to check out what her activity du jour was.  Today, she was jump roping on top of the world.
I remember my jump roping days fondly, and hope she looks back at her good life with the same fondness when she grows up.

Bonked

img_7965-2018-03-03-at-16-38-41.jpg
King BooBoo strikes again.
This time, he was on his bike, and ate it.
img_7966-2018-03-03-at-16-42-12.jpg
I attended to the injured boy, and just moments later, he was up and at ‘em.
I’ll admit, King BooBoo doesn’t stay down for long.
I’ll also admit, King BooBoo doesn’t learn from his mistakes.
I just wonder if his brain works faster than his legs (or vice versa)…and things just don’t sync up the way they should.

Artist Gifts

img_7941-2018-03-01-at-16-10-45.jpg
Navy learned how to draw dragons at school today, so she came home bearing gifts.
This red and yellow dragon is for Dash.
img_7940-2018-03-01-at-16-08-33.jpg
And the pastel one is for Pippi.
Nice work Navy.
