During this pool day with the Seastrands, I witnessed two things.
Number one:
A $250 investment from Nonnie for a snow cone machine was the best decision she has ever made!
Number two:
Grey and Navy just might be destined for each other.
And this was the day that Pippi declared, “You’re the worst mom in the world!”
(This came after I told her to do her jobs.)
Almost every day, Pippi draws some scribbles on a paper, and finds me to guess what everything is. When I guess the Hawaiin Islands, she says…”Nope! They are footprints.” When I say “are they ants”, because they totally look like ants, she says, “NOPE! that is math.”
I swear that I guess everything correctly, but she literally makes it so I don’t get anything right.
Quite frankly…I think I am in the middle of some sort of scam she is running!
When Pippi brought home her painting she did today, I told her it was the most beautiful painting she has ever done.
She completely disagreed.
Then I told her that she got the hair color wrong.
She again…completely disagreed.
Pippi gave me her rendition of the Three Little Pigs today. It was exactly on, but it wasn’t exactly off.
It was just Pippi style…with the big breaths (like seen in her picture) and all.
Pippi nailed her eye exam.
She was healthy as a horse.
She has stayed tall for her age, but under weight for her age.
Her shots about did her in.
And in true Pippi fashion, she manhandled the doctor’s necklace, and complimented it.
The best part, was the doctor was truly flattered!
I think my favorite thing to do on Sunday afternoons, is head to Hole In The Fence for some rock stacking and collecting.
There is something so peaceful about it, and all of the kids get into which is really fun.
As she always does, Navy nailed it.
Pippi was an awesome gatherer today. Even though it came at the cost of her shirt.
Micah collected the colors of the rainbow…and a few “balls”.
And this beauty…this is my masterpiece.
Navy made Scout a “Tello Bout”.
I wasn’t sure what this was…but in the end, I realized it is self explanatory.
It is a paper, that “tells about” Scout!
It tells his birthday, his age, his grade, and of course….Navy added in his crush!
Spring Break this year was a trip to L.A.
Honestly…it wasn’t my favorite vacation ever, but anywhere with my husband and kids is fun.
While there…we hit up:
Universal Studios twice.
Harry Potter land was amazing. It was transformative, and highly entertaining. While there, we went to the wizard who appointed proper wands. On our second time through, Navy got picked to be the apprentice, and we were all so excited! Mostly because she got a free wand! That is…UNTIL we realized that she was actually appointed her perfect wand…to the tune of $79.95! Yeah Right!
Meanwhile, Dash was so upset he didn’t get to buy a wand, that I told him that Harry Potter’s real wand was a simple stick off a tree. I told him that I would find him one just like harry Potter’s wand, and he seemed to be fine wtih that. When I came back with a pretty wimpy stick (all I could find), he pouted the rest of the hour! Navy tried to humor him with it, but he wasn’t having it. It might have been because Scout, Navy and I kept cracking up over the flimsy stick I found.
Outside of Harry Potter land, was my favorite part of Universal Studios — the lot tour and special effects show. Honestly…they were awesome! During the special effects show, they picked our family to be the ones who did the sound effects to a movie clip. My kids loved it, and we got VIP seating — which I loved. Universal ended up being a blast.
(Update: Kennedy - a friend of Scouts happened to be at the show where we did the special effects! She said she was so excited to see us!)
We did Hollywood Boulevard, and Chinese Mann’s Theater.
We took the subway. And when Dash was going to mess his pants, I made him use this trashcan, because it was one of those emergency situations. He did not like it, but thank goodness we stuffed his shoes with toilet paper to make him taller for the Universal rides…so we were prepared for his trashcan stint.
We had VooDoo donuts.
We hit up downtown, where I went fabric shopping, and Navy got a turtle she names “Bama Ka Warrior”! (obviously in honor of Skilly.)
One of our favorite stops was the Griffith Observatory.
The show was incredible, the museum was great, the views were insane, and the big front lawn to play ball on was perfect.
We ended our trip to a pizzas stop, where the “circle game” was in full force.
And rolled ice cream!

Los Angeles…you have too much traffic, way too many people, a bazillion homeless people, and smells that are just gross. But we tackled you, had a good time, and won’t be back for a mighty long time!
Tristen sent me this picture of Blush and Pippi having a blast in the same size swimming suit! Even though Blush is 2 years younger, Pippi is small enough to wear the same 24 months size!!
Then I got this picture, of Pippi having the time of her life.
Of course she is…she gets to be the boss of other kids for the first time in her life!
