This morning was a morning of speeches.
Dash had to give a speech about lying.
Pippi had to give a speech about being a nice sister.
The format goes as follows:
State Your Name
State the purpose of your speech
Tell why that is your topic
Apologize and ask for forgiveness
Promise to never repeat offend
-
In theory the speeches are awesome.
In reality, we repeat the same speeches over and over!
These two remind me of the song that goes, “Anything you can do, I can do better. Anything you can do, I can do too.”
Or better yet…they remind me of me and Tristen when we were younger!
Scout got his Arrow of Light tonight in Boy Scouts! He worked with Brenda pretty diligently, and achieved it completely on his own!
Awesome work Scout!
Really awesome.
I told Scout he should write his own lyrics to his ukulele songs…so I started to help him out.
I wrote:
“It didn’t take me long
to discover it was you.
It didn’t take me long
to know it was true.
I’ve never thought twice…”
Then I was a bit stuck, so I asked Scout (the up and coming lyricist what a good next line would be…)
He offered “Since I saw you on ice”!

Oh boy…let’s preemptively strike, and career change now!
Scout put together a workout for himself. He heard about the end of the school year swim party…and he said he wants to look good! He also said he is going to sport a Speedo. Ummmm?
The competition: No Hand Challenge
The location: Beach Harbor Pizza
The judge: Mom
The competitors: Dash v. Navy
By a 1.1 second margin, I…Mom Denison…declare the winner to be…NAVY DENISON!
I don’t buy elementary school yearbooks.
I never have.
So when I pulled up to school to see everyone signing each other’s yearbooks, and Navy in the mix I was a bit confused.
Then I saw her piece of paper everyone was signing.
I started laughing…because of the pathetic piece of flimsy paper with “K.I.T.’s all over it”.
When I was asking her about her paper, she said…that’s not the only thing people were signing…
And then she showed me her makeshift homemade splint!
HOW RAD IS NAVY!
I literally think she is allergic to complaining…because she never EVER complains!
She just solves her own problems…and tackles life.
I love this girl…especially on days like this.
Pippi’s most recent choice of shoes, come straight from Nonnie’s closet.
When I walked into the family night room, and saw a huge mark in the smack dab middle of the couch, I asked what it was. Everyone looked right at Pippi, and then she proudly declared, “I kissed the couch for you mom!”
Lipstick!
You mean about the hardest thing to get out of fabric!
Good thing it was a kiss mark, and not something offensive, because after three products…the above-pictured stain is quite possibly a permanent fixture.
Scout made me the ultimate gift today.
It was a book…that every kid signed…as an agreement for the kids to be perfect for three days straight.
WHAT!?!
I’d take one day!
Apparently, it is up to me to write the things that the kids need to work on, that would make the kids perfect in my eyes.

I haven’t utilized my three days yet. Partly because I don’t want to waste my three days. Partly because I am still making my lists of what they can all work on to become perfect…and I need another sheet to continue on.
