Simon Says

Just a fierce game of Simon Says going on.
It’s a perfect match up.
A younger sister who craves being the boss, and an older brother who likes any challenge thrown his way.

Dramicah is Sick

You heard it here….
the WORST news I ever get, is that Micah is sick!
But I am pretty sure that most wives are in the “I’d rather have needles in my eyes than have a sick husband” club.
No biggie.  He only decided to take over the couch in the Family Night Room…the room we live 98% of our lives in.  And when the kids were too loud, he managed to mutter out, “Does it really need to be that loud in here?”
Get better soon honey!
Sooner than humanly possibly we all hope.

Cinamon Roll Helper Girl

The long-awaited cinnamon rolls for the primary kids is here.  Starting at some obscene hour, my mom gets up and bakes the morning away.  The kids always try to get up really early with her, but this year, we told them to sleep in because their behavior suggested they needed it.  Pippi didn’t listen (you don’t say)…but she was in great spirits helping away.

Nonnie gave her some dough and her own space, to create her very own cinnamon roll.  We all agreed, that she might be taking over the baking in the years to come!

Finally 80!

Gone are the days, when Dash wanted Nonnie to read him the “It was a goopy beginning” book.  But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t head into her room each day to steal a quick kiss and love from his Nonnie.  Especially on this big day!  The day…after so many celebrations…the day she actually turns 80!
Happy Birthday Non…from Dash and the gang!

Fourth and TK

I volunteered for the worst thing ever!  I teach Dash’s first grade PE.  So every Wednesday, immediately after grabbing Pippi from school, we rush over to teach PE to a bunch of wild first graders, who don’t know how to listen!  But the cherry on top of that assignment, is that each Wednesday, Pippi and I get to head over to Navy’s class before it gets out, to great her.  Pippi loves all of the attention she gets from everyone who knows her in Navy’s class.  And Navy loves to see her sis outside each time. And me…I adore these two together.  They have a bond that is pretty special.
And sidenote: how stinking old do they look!!!  Navy looks like a teenager, and Pippi is no longer the “baby”.

Honor Roll

I guess School Loop is deceiving.  Every single day, Micah and I are on Scout about some bad grade he has gotten.  So when he came home with his Honor Roll Certificate, I almost keeled over!!!  He was so proud of himself.  I was — sort of.  I expect all A’s, so when Scout dabbles in the B’s, I get so annoyed.  So I told him that there is another thing called the “exclusive honor roll”, and asked him if he got that certificate?  He said no.  Then I just pursed my lips and shook my head no.  I am hoping that will get his hard work juices flowing.  But more than likely, he will ask someone about the “exclusive honor roll”, and find out it was all a ploy.  But in the off chance he tries for the “exclusive” club…I will personally create the most glittery certificate a boy could ever ask for.

Old Buddies

Since Scout headed to Niguel, he parted ways with all of his old Chinese buddies.  But this morning at drop off for the younger kids, Scout ran into a few of his old friends.  Both Braden and Donovan look like they have totally grown up!  I was shocked to see them seem so big.  The reunion was fun, and when we asked if they liked Newhart Junior High, they both responded that they liked Bergeson better.
When we left, Scout said he was so glad he was going to Niguel, because he liked Niguel a thousand times more than Bergeson!  I guess we made the right decision.

Neighborhood Scriptures

How rad are the Hansens!  They decided to make a goal to read the Book of Mormon before the end of the year, and invited the neighborhood kids to join in.  So each Sunday afternoon, the kids all gather at the Hansens and read with treats at the end.  And the best part…my kids are psyched to go each week!  And they come back with cool insights and totally highlighted scriptures!  Thanks Hansens — best neighbors a mom could ask for!

Mama & Boys

img_e3745-2018-11-04-at-06-22-49.jpg
How lucky am I!
I have a know-it-all older son, who wrestles too hard and reacts too quickly.
And I have a younger son, who doesn’t have the ability to sit still and has had the tattling bug lately.
But when either of these boys sees me lay down on the couch for the night, each vies for the best spot right next to me, and cuddles right in.  That is…until one thinks the other’s arm is in their spot, and the wrestling match begins.
But truth be told — each loves their mama something fierce.

Heavenly Father???

One of my favorite primary songs I sing to the kids starts with the line, “Heavenly Father…are you really there?”  It goes on to say that He is always there.  Well…classic Pippi was really annoyed at everyone today.  She wasn’t getting her way, and nobody was cow-towing to her whims.  So all of a sudden, she started walking around the house singing, “Heavenly Father…are you not here?!?”
img_3733-2018-11-03-at-15-14-43.jpg
And when she sang, she had a complete look of disgust across her face, so we were all rolling in laughter.  She didn’t find our laughing funny, so sang even louder!  It was hilarious…and clearly just wasn’t Pippi’s day.
