When Micah woke up to see how squished I was in the bed, he took a picture to show me how Dash had taken over! But I didn’t see it that way. The picture paints only one picture to me…Micah is a total bed hog!
Squished
Turkey Trot ‘18
In order of appearance….the finishers of the Turkey Trot!
Scout, Navy, Dash and Pippi got 5th, 6th, 9th and last respectively.
Grant beat Scout for the first time, and Scout “didn’t care”. I predict a better effort next year!
Art Lesson
There is nothing quite like seeing a little girl deep into her imagination. This day it was an art lesson for all of her stuffed friends. And she was to be called, “Ms. Pippi”!
Santa Pics ‘18
I love Santa Pics every year. We always have a fun evening. But this year…we had to rush so much to get to the mall, and then some of the kids (Scout) wanted to be “funny” and never try to take a decent picture…so it all ended up being a bit annoying. But we got the picture…and I guess when I look back at the pictures from each year, I can see which stage of life each kid was in. This year’s stage for Scout is…obnoxious!
By the group picture, my evil stare down had finally worked, and he was a bit better. I think it comes down to seven boys all together trying to outdo one another. I adore every single one of them — but could also smack each one for different reasons! Hooray for the girls!
(Who for the second year in a row, pulled Scout aside to “have a talk”!)
Santa Jacket
I was shopping in TJMaxx, when all of a sudden, some kid whipped by me on an actual bike. I thought to myself, “No wonder I don’t shop here often!” Then I saw the culprit…
It was my own child! Then I reevaluated, and realized this was the BEST! I could shop while my kids whipped around the store on a bike! And in a stellar Santa Jacket to boot! This is all too good!
And just like Dash always does, he begged for me to buy him something. But since this time it was the Santa Jacket that was amazing for church, I told him I would go halves with him. He was in…and he wore that beauty all the way into his bed, when I had to pry it off of him!
That jacket was the hit of the night, and even had Navy and Rose drooling over it!
TJMaxx…I take back what I thought earlier!
Two BYU’s
There is no secret to the fact, that Pippi would grab her BYU (pronounced BYOO) in a house fire before anything or anyone else. Lucky her, that Seth and Brett gave her another BYU!!! Now she has two BYU’s…and as seen above…she envelopes herself in them, and goes to la la land in a split second flat. If only we ALL had BYU’s!
Big Boy!
This kid woke me up this Sunday morning fully dressed with his hair done by himself. I asked how I got so lucky? He said, “Mom, I didn’t want your day to be hard, so I made sure to get all the way ready before you even woke up!”
Thanks for the easy peasy day Dashy!
A Couch Afternoon
It is amazing how the kids congregate to wherever I am. This afternoon, I was burying my nose in a book on the couch, and next to me, the pattern blocks made a rare appearance by:
She made quite the winter scene:
Meanwhile, Dash was next to me blowing up all sorts of balloons.
And about every 14th word I read, I was summoned to look up to see how big his current balloon was getting!
Pippi’s Flu
Every time one of my kids goes into mainstream school for their first year, they have a very sickly year. It is Pippi’s turn, and her timing couldn’t have been more off!
I flew to Utah to visit my dad, and this was Pippi on the plane. I should have known!
This was Pippi, moments after we arrived at Tristen’s house. As usual, when she said she felt like she was going to throw up, she did. And as usual, she made every ounce into the discard vessel. I was laughing at the timing. Tristen was not!
Pippi created a nice space for her friend the Giraffe, who can’t catch any germs, to sleep next to.
And finally, here is Pippi on the way home in the plane.
Needless to say, Pippi got a rip off of a trip!
“Air Quotes”
Navy has been using air quotes properly for the last year or so. It always takes the adults by surprise, and always makes us laugh. Somewhere along the way, Pippi picked up the whole “air quotes” phase.
But the best part, is that her air quotes are more like air lobster claws. Again…she usually uses them correctly…but we laugh every time she puts those lobster claws up in the air!
