Christmas Eve is MY FAVORITE!!! I love everything about Christmas, but Christmas Eve is the best part of it all! This year, we decided to keep it a secret from Nonnie, and pull names. But what she didn’t know, was that everyone was buying for her, and whomever’s name she pulled just got a rad gift. It worked like a charm, and she had no clue. And the best part…everyone came through with creative and awesome gifts for her. But the best…was from Micah!
She has been complaining about the bones in her booty for a few years. So he got her two different padded seats for her to use on different seats she sits on regularly…but better yet…He got her padded underwear! We were dying, and then she came out with them on…
And then we were ROLLING! She stuffed towels down her booty too, so when she came out looking like a Kardashian, it was hilarious! Especially when she started “twerking”! It was almost better than her jump! It was so great! After the kid’s exchanged, and we showered Nonnie with her gifts, and the PJs were opened…Micah asked if we wanted to do his gift. We all said yep…and then for the second time in one night…
Micah dominated!

He created a game show called “Yu Can’t Lose!”
It started off with a sweet note to me that had me in tears. Then he had $500 taped on the back. He then brought out wrapped presents that I could buy for $100 each. There were seven, so I had to choose wisely. And then my mom spotted me $200 to choose all of them! Among the strobe lights and “Yu” yelling “Yu Can’t Lose”…I opened up several things Micah has wanted, a bag of oysters, and a caliration measuring tool. Then he brought out a poster with pearl colors and sizes….and then Yu announced, “I buy YOUR pearls!”
We were all freaking out and how fun it all was…and then I started opening up 20 pearls one by one! There were pearls that ranged from $10 to $5000, that Yu was going to buy from me!
After opening each one, he inspected the color and measured it for size, and paid me on the spot! The BEST, was when I got two undocumented colors, and got $2,500 and $1,800 for them! It was the funnest game on earth!!! Micah literally had the whole family freaking out for an hour!
In the end, yu paid me just under $6000 for my pearls!
Yu…I will sell you my pearls any day!
Micah…that was one of the most memorable Christmas’ of all time!!!
Christmas Eve never disappoints…but this year might have hit an all time high!

After…the boys got the room ready for Christmas, and the presents out.
Then they left to Harbor House, while Megan stuffed stockings and I created a masterpiece.
Christmas is so much more than all of the fun and treats…and that is why I really love Christmas. But the laughing and togetherness and the pearls are a really fun part too!
We love having a full day of celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve Day with the Denisons.
This year there were some kid’s games that they loved!
Navy really loved the Rudolph game!
And we discovered today, that Scout might be passing up great Grandma in height this year!
We always have fun with the Denison crew, and especially when the whole gang is there, with the biggest spread of deliciousness a family could ever want!
My first favorite thing about this Sunday, is the kids (+ Blush) singing in Sacrament meeting, under the direction of the world’s greatest singing teacher of all time!
The next favorite thing of this Sunday, is that we gathered everyone in the family for a quick family shot, from Gary — the barefooted neighborhood walker who has more piercings and tattoos than you can imagine. I had to zoom in a bunch, because I am pretty sure he thought I wanted us to be as big as ants in the picture…and really focus on the surrounding plants!
I hate ALL THINGS electronic!
But my heart does soften just a bit, when two ridiculously handsome brothers, are playing together so nicely…even if those brothers are playing on a stolen phone!
Pippi has been talking about her Christmas performance at school for weeks.
She made sure I dressed her impeccably this morning — with a sparkly gold bow and all!
She sang her little heart out, as I stage-mommed her with the cupped-hand-behind-my-ear action “louder” the whole time.
After the performance, all of the kids ran to the food table, while Pippi ran to her teacher’s chair to become the teacher! She read story after story, to whatever invisible students were able to listen.
Meanwhile, I walked around the room to see her work. She said that for Christmas she wants to get Daddy a new surfboard. She picked his name this year, and she is determined to get the surfboard for him!
Thanks for the invite Pippi!
Dash was wondering why, for the first time this year, I walked the kids into morning assembly.
He found out really quickly, when he was called up to be the December Student of the Month!
He had no idea, and was SO proud of himself…after he got over the shock of it all!
Mrs. Chang said he is one of her very favorite students, who is a really hard worker and very respectful to her and his peers!
Nice work Dash!!!
Everyone in the car thought it was so sweet that Dash had chosen Navy to write his snowman note to.
“Dear Navy, I am going to poop on you. Love, Dash.”

Go figure.
Guess who is home???
It was the best reunion at John Wayne Airport today, as Skilly came home from 18 months of time well-spent in Alabama on her mission!
It was full of tears…
And people who are beyond excited to hang with the pseudo older sister again!

What is first on the agenda?
Well, after a Mexican fiesta lunch at home…filled with details and stories, Ka wanted me to drive her to the harbor lookout point, so she could see the view she has missed all of these months!
Welcome home you good and faithful servant!
We are so happy!
The boys are getting a new room. They had no closet space, and were in beds that were darling…for a girl! So over the past few weeks, the makeover has started. We completed a lot of it, and just in time for all of the holiday visitors! Here is a 75% finished job!
We need bed skirts, frames for the wall, roman shades, a different light on the shelf…and we might be there!
It is so exciting to have so much more space!!!
Today was the Brockbank’s annual service project. When we showed up, they beefed it up with t shirts for the crew. Like usual, I manned the register with Doey and Meegs. The kids were outside washing cars with Bryan and Trey. Before we got there, I told my kids that if I saw Bryan working for one second while they stood around, they were dead meat. I am really, really happy to report that my kids stepped up this year. Bryan vouched (along with Trey, who might be more honest, less kind) that they were hustling the entire time.
And that my folks, is the best Christmas present a mom could ever want!
This is something like their 20th year doing this service project, and they have made big differences in so many people’s lives. They have helped families with fertility, injuries, hard times….and now they focus especially on cancer!
Megan and Bryan…there isn’t a greater couple. Thank you for letting my family be part of your goodness.
