Despite a very faulty IV placement (for the second time today) Nonnies surgery was a complete success!
She has already said, “It is a miracle, I don’t have any pain when I move my leg.”
This girl tried to act coy about her amazing makeover.
But really, she checked herself out in the mirror about one hundred times.
Thanks Bella for the amazing heavy-handed work.
It was so well done, that after waking up from a nap, not one bit of her make up was smeared or gone.
Tell us your secrets!
My Mom has had a bad back for almost a year. She is in a bad way! All I have to say is that she better thank her lucky stars that I am invested in her staying young, because I forced her to a doctor, made her a surgery appointment, and today is the big day!
She tried to claim she was a bit nervous, but I poo-pooed it.
Plus, at least I didn’t drop her off at the curb this time — and that she make her less nervous!
Everything was great…
Dr. Bhatia was completely confident in the surgery.
Her anesthesiologist is sending a boy to my kid’s school this fall, so we chatted it up — and I promised I would give her good school tips if she did a good job.
And the resident was mormon, and promised to give her a Priesthood blessing during surgery if necessary.
And then the nurse came in to give her the IV — and then the nerves started, as my mom had to be pricked several times with blood running down her finger.
This is what it looks like every time Dash goes to get his own underwear or PJ’s out of the communal pajama drawer.
It seems funny to me that I don’t get rid of half of the stuff in the drawer, but if there is anything matching between the four kids — I can’t!
So for the kids who rarely ever wear pajamas in the first place, I am keeping every last matching set you have!
Guess who “didn’t” get into the powdered donuts.
Looks like it is time I tell her my famous story of when I “didn’t” get into the egg nog.
It was August’s birthday party, and Navy was invited. So I gussied her up in one of her finest outfits, to look really cute. You can imagine my surprise when I got this picture mid-party:
Sopping wet kids.
And according to the caption, Navy was the first to get wet, and the wettest of them all.
You don’t say.
Looks like my little darling was on her best behavior.
She is just the sweetest!

But all is well, she had a great time, and they say she was really good.
But when I got her outfit out of the dirty clothes basket, and it was ruined with a huge rip in it, and mud everywhere on it, I don’t know if they were being forthright.
Time with the Pips lately has been….let’s just say…”trying”.
So my usual solution is a special date for special attention.
So the two of us went off to Yogurtland, and we had a fun time together.
And then I asked her, “Pips…why have you been so stinky lately? Why do you scream 24/7, and defy every instruction you get?”
And that is when she looked off.
I thought she was pondering her actions, and trying to reevaluate her ways.
And then she pointed and said, “Goggie, ruff ruff!”
And that is when I realized that it might take a few more special dates to get through to this crazy lady.
Micah got some major love from his two boys this morning.
And then the arms and legs of the littlest terror in all the world showed up….and everyone got out of dodge really quickly!
Welcome to the OC Fair ‘15!
Where….
sunblock
cousins
handicapped persons
and rides were all in full force.
As usual, we hit all of our favorite spots, ate our favorite food, sweat our brains out, won goldfish and junky stuffed animals, and had the very best time!
Some of us were down for the count before we got home.
(Good thing Pippi was so gentle when she woke him up.)
And then it was time to put something relatively healthy in their bodies (shredded wheat), before they all hit the hay.
Until next year.
We headed down to San Diego today for some fun in the sun.
Doey told us about the bay where we could find sand dollars.
Here are Micah and Scout searching — but nothing turned up.
So after some good searching, we decided to head out to the beach.
Where there was a lot of seaweed fun.
Check out this foursome jumping rope.
Then there was the daddy jungle gym.
The daddy warmer.
And finally, the showers where there was quite the production to get everyone sand free.
And the best part of the day…when Megan (who has nothing at all to do these days) took my three oldest for the night!
Good times!
