We went to visit the Greats for Family Night tonight.
I think they were pleasantly surprised with our impromptu drop in — although my entire set of in-laws are major planners, so I’m sure the unannounced visit was a little surprising.
My kids were playing puzzles with Great Grandpa, who hasn’t been feeling too hot lately.
And like every kid before, Pippi found the Cheetah to hang with.
And finally, Micah relived his glory days as a sophomore in high school.
After a hot 30 minutes in the Chick Fil-A playground, these two earned themselves a drink.
A singular drink, that they kindly shared.
My favorite ornament this year, comes from the artistic hands of Navy the Great.
Our favorite store, The Red Balloon requested Pippi’s feet to show off these amazing baby shoes.
And clearly, they got it right …because those are the cutest mini feet I’ve ever seen!
I have a vision for my Christmas card this year, and I needed a white on white photo shoot to make it happen.
Good thing Benny took about a million pictures, so we could get a few decent ones.
But until I solidify the good ones, here are a few of the outtakes:
Nobody quite gets my vision, so I drew it out.
Just picture the above card, with an amazing artist at the pen.
I’m crossing my fingers it will all pan out.
The easiest mornings for me, are the mornings when Icka slept in curlers the night before.
Good thing I have a mom who tries to set her hair, as often as possible.
If I had known the hours of enjoyment, a huge white piece of paper and a box of pens would have provided….I would have put them out wwaaaayyyy sooner.
I think these kids were out there for about three hours just drawing and drawing.
And it all happened very randomly….Benny Ek wanted to cut off the bottom of his backdrop he had brought over. So rather than throw it away, we created a work space. And the next three hours were a creative frenzy of three cute kids.
I love a relaxed evening where it is just our little family hanging out.
Tonight, Scout was perfecting his Chinese yo-yo skills, while the others were making castles, fortresses and temples.
My kids love Christmas lights time.
Not because they love the finished product.
Not because the lights indicate Santa’s coming.
Because their dad lets them climb out on the roof and live dangerously for about five minutes.
After a yummy breakfast, and a sweet manger reenactment, the chorister with the morister brought Santa to the church building with some lively Christmas songs.
My kids were stoked.
Pippi was a trooper — even giving Santa an extra hug for her own candy cane.
And on our way out, Scout told me of his science experiment — where he swiped a balloon from the decorations, and weighed it down.
He said according to his calculations, it would go up, but would come down.
So he sent it on its way, and it went up, up, up.
And they we both started cracking up, as we watched it go a little too high for his experiment.
But while we were laughing, that stinking thing came down, down, down!
Nice work Science Sam.
