While everyone else sat at the table to eat, this girl preferred to dine and dash.
Dine and Dash
Mini Chef
With a little help from Micah on the batter, Scout tried his hand at pancakes for the first time ever.
He had a great instructor, and the final product was devoured.
He took great direction on all things except “keep your hands out of your pants when you cook”!
Apparently, nobody was too put off by that hand!
Feeling Lousy
Pippi said she wasn’t feeling good this morning, which had me worried.
Mostly because she doesn’t know how to tell me what is wrong.
Is this a throw up sickness, or something else???
Just to be safe, I put her in a reinforced sick bed.
And when I asked her what she wanted to watch, she gave me the name of her favorite movie!!!
Of course … Pippi Longstalking!
And like clockwork, the second Navy heard someone wasn’t feeling well, she immediately came to their rescue.
The verdict - no throwing up, and she felt better after an hour or so.
Swim Lessons for Pips
Pippi is taking swim lessons with the world’s greatest — Gretchen. She is taking it with four other 2 year olds, and everyone was nervous about their child’s behavior except me. I knew PIppi would absolutely love every second. Although I did want to go first so that she didn’t see other kids crying, and then copy.
I was right.
She was perfect, and really good at swimming.
And she absolutely loved Gretchen.
Of all of my kids, of course Pippi would love the nursery rhymes and primary songs Gretchen sings to them.
And afterwards, Dash got a quick refresher.
Gretchen said he is a GO!
Three down, one left!
Water Paints
I gave Pippi and Dash some water paints for their bath this morning. Pippi was so sad about five minutes in, so I asked her why the long face. She said, “Dash painted on me”. I said that is what the paints are for. Then she said in a very dramatic way, “I don’t yike when Dashy draws poo on me”! I had no idea what she was talking about. I was right there, brushing my teeth, and didn’t see anything odd. So I told her I would tell him to stop. She was satisfied with that, and turned back to get in the bath. And then I saw a black paint mark on her booty, and that’s when I realized what was going on. He actually did draw poo on her, and when I called him out on it, he was laughing hysterically because he thought he was the greatest jokester on earth.
Scouts
Tonight at Scouts was a biggie.
Seth and Cade walked over the bridge, so we were there on our own accord — and also in major support.
Scout got to be a color guard for the night.
And admiring brother watched on.
Before the big event, we had a really cool guest speaker, a veterinarian, who told us everything on earth about parrots. It was fascinating and really well done.
And then there was the big moment.
Hasta la vista Seth and Cade.
The Power of Distraction
When the IPad is in play (or stolen from my mom’s room is more like it), there are always fights to see who gets to use it. Today, Pippi came up with a great way to get the IPad. She just distracted the heck out of Dash, until he put the IPad down, and said, “Fine, I will play with you”. As soon as she heard those words, Pippi bolted over to the IPad, swiped it, and left Dash in her dust.
Easy Peasy
The kids were playing a game on the sidewalk before we left for Scouts, when Dash had to use the restroom.
This might be against some mom’s nature, but I am a huge fan of “solving your own problem”, so going to the bathroom in the bushes works for me!
Good problem solving Dash!
And good problem solving about once, every other day!
The Drive Thru
Our kids love their new car — and also our neighbor’s matching car. They have been living in them for a few days. And this morning, while I was about to make them breakfast, I asked if they just wanted to drive through the drive-thru. They were totally game. So Dash lead the way, and Pippi followed. They ordered toast and a smoothie. So I whipped up their breakfast, and served it to them at the next window. And those two drove off and giggled as they ate.
Art Class
Britni talked me into an art class for Scout and Navy. It is a total rip off, but there was a Groupon for 4 weeks, and I bought it. I knew Navy would love it, but didn’t think Scout would die over it. I was right and wrong….Scout and Navy both LOVE it! And each week, at the end when they show off their day’s work, I am amazed by what I see.
In only an hour and a half, Navy drew this darling cupcake.
And Scout created this rad dragon.
I hope Groupon puts out another coupon soon — I am crossing my fingers!
