After Navy’s hives…we are rashed out. Unfortunately, the gods don’t think so. Dash was camping with the family (not me) and Seth and Cade. They were out in the Ortegas. While there, there was a sign that read, “Warning: Do not enter! Poison Oak.” Micah pointed it out to everyone, and made sure they were aware of the sign. A few hours later, when one of the boy’s balls went into the bush, everyone was bummed that they lost their ball forever. Just moments later, Dash saved the day!
Poor guy, who is itchier than any boy should be. But I’ll give it to him, because he doesn’t complain about it at all.

(Update: Just a few weeks after this incident of poison oak, we were REALLY rashed out. That is when I got poison oak. We believe that as Colby was looking for Scout’s lost drone behind our house, he got poison oak. then he sat on our couch, that I later slept on. I had poison oak all over my entire stomach and back. It is a gruesome rash. It was torture in the heat of summer. Especially since I have undertaken running. It lasted two months…and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.)
As tradition goes — when school is out…we head for the hot dessert.
In this case…temps were soaring above 110 degrees.
But in the name of tradition and fun…we went anyway!
First stop — the outlets, where a lot of naughty shenanigans were going on.
Did I mention that our crew was increased by the twins, Tommy, Charlie and the Hunts this year?! It was all a little cray cray.
Our rooms were great — ground level, and around the corner from the pond.
Obviously, frog hunting was first on our list.
It was Grey and Navy who raked all of these guys in.
Obviously it was Navy!
The sleeping arrangements were classic. The Stooges thought they hit the jackpot in our pull out bed! The best was in the morning, when they snuck my phone, and took a bunch of selfies and and photos of me sleeping. I thought I heard a lot of giggling in my dreams!!!
Obviously the pool was the absolute highlight!
Those kids didn’t stop for hours at a time.
And we all just lounged in the shade — good thing for those new babies!
Our few reprieves from the heat were the theater, Cheesecake Factory, and the room!
I think the kids thought they were in Heaven — because jokes and all forms of hilarity were all accepted.
Everyone was wiped by the end.
So in an effort to get every bit of energy out of these kids before getting home, we stopped at a hill for them to climb.
Pippi and Goldi made it half way up.
But the Stooges made it all the way up.
They were the only three to make it, so they earned a private pool party from me.
(Although it won’t be for a while — I need time to recuperate!)
After being postponed (due to hives), Navy finally got baptized today.
It was an awesome day — one of those days you go to bed at night with a big smile across your face.
The program included everyone exactly how she wanted them.
Cade baptized her.
Scout and Skylar spoke. both did an AMAZING job.
Nonnie did the music — of course.
She and her siblings sang “The Miracle”.
Jon confirmed her, and Bryan and Chloe gave the prayers.
It was perfect.
She waited for Cade to get home from his mission to baptize her. And then after the hives, it was postponed. So this day was long awaited. But all of the stars aligned — finally!
Navy….we are beyond proud of you as our perfect little girl.
You are seriously the greatest addition to our family.
We LOVE you!
And we are proud of you.
Now let’s go eat with all of your future suitors — except maybe Scout.
It seems like every time Micah is down on the ground stretching or working out — there is always a little copy cat next to him.
Don’t be fooled by this darling picture, where it looks like Pippi and my mom are talking about all things important.
This is actually a tattling session on Dash.
Which in a three-year-old’s eyes, might be all important.
Scout was asked to be a waiter at Ella’s birthday bash. He was obviously willing and pumped! He was to wear solid-colored board shorts, and a white buttoned-down shirt.
I was on my way home to figure it all out with him, when I saw my little waiter already heading up to his first waiting gig!
Knock ‘em dead my boy.
Pippi was thrilled to be invited to Summer Samuelian’s birthday Tea Party.
She got to get all gussied up — her favorite!
She got her own make up — her other favorite!
She got to be fancy — her ultimate favorite!
And she got to be amongst other fine ladies — her new favorite!
ALL I CAN SAY IS HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!
Poor Navy is still battling her hives.
I see her itch herself constantly…but she never complains — EVER.
She just asked to go swimming when she gets home, because she says her hives feel the best in the cold water of the pool.
Poor thing who is such a trooper.
It was a good year for Dash (minus the two times Micah almost got me in trouble with the Child Protective Services).
It was a good year for Navy (who despite her ailment…dominated to good grades.)
And it was a good year for (too cool) Scout — who refused a picture with his teachers.
In his defense — school was already out, and he wasn’t about to walk back on campus for a lame picture.
I don’t blame him!
See you later Bergeson….and I am sure it will be too soon when we do!
This little one has been picking books off the shelf lately, and singing them to me.
This one was a mix of “You are My Sunshine” with “This Little Light of Mine”.
Our little book sessions are my favorite.
Navy may have denied hitting Scout hard.
Then she got in the shower as quickly as she ever has.
Too bad her hand mark showed up while she was rinsing off…
because when she got out…she was dead meat.
Not only for the hand mark evidence — but for the smug smile she had while everything was proving her wrong!
Straight to bed Navy!
