Dad…the Mentor

Every once in a while I can’t find Scout or Micah, and find them down in his office working away.  The cutest part is when Micah is talking to Scout and kind of gives him a play by play of what he is doing.  I love it!

Fun Day of Swimming

p1010016.JPG

I had a group of friends over to go swimming today.  The Thacks, Deckers, Hemeons, Tuckers, and part of the Harris family showed up.  It was low key and very fun.  The kids swam, jumped on the trampoline and played on the swings/slide.  It was just the girls until the dads showed up after work.  Good times and good friends — I wonder why I haven’t done this all summer long.  I think I am going to put a standing invitiation to whomever wants to come on a certain day every week.  So anyone who is interested, let me know what day works best!

Father and Son

Tristen had a little photo session with Micah and Scout. She did a great job, and I am really proud to say her most difficult subject to shoot, followed directions marvelously! Nice job Micah!
(Since Tristen’s computer is a lame MAC — I will post pics later!)

Micah has just informed me for the second time that I always spell my most used adjective - ridiculous - wrong. (I spell it rEdiculoous).  Too bad, I pride myself on being a pretty good speller and grammar aficionado — Whoops! So rather than go through every blog and change the spelling, I am simply saying I know it is wrong, and vowing to correctly spell it from this point forward!  Thanx hunny fore helpeeng wyth mi speling!

New Trick!

Scout’s latest thing follows in his dad’s footsteps exactly!  I lay him on his back and give him my thumbs to hold.  He grabs them, and without any help at all, he does a full sit up.  Once he is sitting completely up, I lift my thumbs higher and with the support, he stands all the way up on his own power — so basically my thumbs give him something to hold and support him, but I don’t help at all.  I think it is safe to say that Scout definitely takes after his dad in the whole “do things early” baby stuff.

Teething?

Lately Scout has a habit of ferociously sucking on his lower arm.  Initially I tried to feed him or give him a plug, but he usually isn’t interested in either, and goes right back to his arm.  So at any given time he has a little hickey on one or both arms.  I wonder if he is teething at 3 months, which I have heard is a bit early, but I am not sure of any other explanation!

Tristen the jokester!

While we were at the plays, Tristen thought it would be funny to take her water bottle and douse me during the play…knowing full well that I couldn’t scream or even get her back because she was holding Scout.  She got me, my mom, and everyone else around her.  Little did she know I was waiting patiently for my plan of attack.  Right at the end of the show, when most of the water bottles were empty, I grabbed my pretty full one and got her right on the pants.  Too bad she had to walk out of the play with hundreds of people looking like she had a little accident!

RIP

How funny is this rock we came across in our yard when we were playing bocci ball! Buttons was their little hamster who never saw his 3rd birthday.

BFF!

I have to say that Scummy Tacky is one of my favorite friends of ALL time!  No matter when I see her she is in a good mood, and no matter the time or place, she is up for fun!  It is always nice to have a friend who is 100% drama free.  And to top it all off, she has about the coolest husband on earth (next to the Shmickster!)  Shout out to Scumball Tacker!

Cutest Bloggers!

This morning I was catching up on my blogging near Calin and Skylar.  I showed them what I had done and also a few of my friend’s sites and then asked them if they wanted me to set one up for each of them.  They were totally excited, and were totally into it.  It took us a few minutes and we customized them to look the way they wanted.  I then taught them the basics, and they were off.  They were both glued to their laptops yesterday and both thanked me at least ten times.  I think they each did 3 - 4 posts, and they called all of their friends to look at them.  My favorite part is how classic their writing is.  They write like they speak, and there are no pretences whatsoever.  But the absolute classic was yesterday in the car, Skylar asked me after writing three posts, “So, when should I do my next blog?”  I told her she should do one every time there was something exciting so she could keep a record of it.  Then in an attempt to make sure blogging doesn’t take over her life, I told her she shouldn’t do more that one a day.  She responded with, “Whoa….that’s gonna be hard.  I LOVE blogging!”  She then proceeded to go home and post at least one more!

By the way Scummy — I am her favorite!  How you are even in the post she did for me is REDICULOUS!
