Scout is such the show off lately. He is constantly doing push ups and hand stands (he just runs and slaps his hands to the ground like Skylar) to make people laugh. Whenever he hears music, or someone tells him to dance, he does a dance with his eyes closed and gypsy arm movements. He thinks it looks just like the one Jake and Cade do, but I would say it is a little different, and definitely funnier. Anytime we laugh at something he does, he repeats it a dozen times. And when Cade walks into walls and pretends to be hurt (but really he just slaps the wall with his hand, and then screams out in pain) Scout thinks it is hilarious, and then copies Cade. The only problem is that Scout is really walking into walls, and banging his head. His latest thing is asking for more crackers, while he is in his carseat, then he pretends to eat them, but actually hides them under his rear. Trilby sayd he is saving his food because he doesn’t know when he will be fed next. But it is really just because he knows I think it is funny. He keeps us laughing all day, and is the ultimate ham. His day isn’t great until he has an audience of at least 10 people.

First Sentences!
My mom, Tristen, Scout and I spent the afternoon shopping in Solano Beach. Afterward we headed to the Brockbank’s house to hang out for a bit. WHile there, Scout said two sentences…..his first two! We were outside playing when he was looking for a rubber duck we were throwing. When he couldn’t find it, he lifted his hands in the air and said, “where duckie?” How stinking cute is that! We were celebrating his first sentence for an hour. Then just two hours after that, my mom -his current favorite person in the world- left the room. When she left, Scout said, “Nana, bye bye.”
Scout, you are turning into such a big and handsome boy!
All of his words at 15 months
Scout knows So many words! He mostly knows the first part of a lot of words, but my mom says he is pretty smart for knowing as many as he does right now. Off the top of my head, his current words are:
Kaa for Cracker
Koo for Cookie
Caa for Car
Buuboo for Bubble
Ball, Duck, Dog, and many animal sounds like moo, sssss, coc (cockadoodledoo)
Haa Haa for Hot (every morning this is said over his oatmeal, or when the bath is really warm)
Fff for fish
Blawoo for Balloon
Mama, Dada, Nana and she is so proud…..Blela for Bella (or Belly as we like to call her)
Ppp for Pool or Poopy (when his diaper is changed)
Mooor for More
Nana for Banana
I think he is smart too. As of now, he is also able to get any of his bath squirty animals, he always picks the correct one. He is my up and coming Einstein!
One Charming Husband
I admit to kind of making a mistake. I asked Micah if he wanted to make a deal….long before I was even pregnant. I said that if I worked out four times a week while I was pregnant with our next baby, that I got to name the baby. He, without hesitation, put forward his hand and said “deal” on one condition — shopping is not considered working out! So obviously I was very excited, and when I found out I was pregnant, I started heading down to the harbor to go on my favorite walks. I also swam from time to time –not fun swimming, they were actual laps. I was also spotted on my bike a few times with Micah at my side. Then two things happened. First of all, my doctor said I was high risk for miscarriage, and to temporarily stop all activity. Then we went to San Francisco for our anniversary.
While we were in San Francisco for four days, we walked everywhere and all day long. I was actually nervous about doing too much walking and disobeying doctor’s orders. I even had a pedometer on (I know it is nerdy, but Micah got one free at some conference, and I wanted to know how long I had walked). So after a fun-filled long weekend we got on the plane to head home. My charming husband informed me that since he had been with me the whole time, he knew I hadn’t worked out for four days out of the week…..and he was thrilled to get the chance to name our next baby. I said YEAH RIGHT! He said that the clause he had put in at the very beginning of the deal making was that “shopping didn’t count”. I informed him that since we only bought one thing, and it was a stinking sweatshirt for him because he was cold….I didn’t consider that shopping. He wasn’t buying it, and was sticking to his story. It was a serious clash of the titans!
By the time the next week rolled around I was so irritated at his ridiculous logic I vetoed working out all together. I totally felt the upper hand until he came to me that next Saturday and said….”HA! You definitely didn’t work out four times this week”….and started singing and dancing around like a child while saying, “I get to name the baby!” I told him that the deal was completely off because of the debacle last week over San Fran. I told him he was wrong and irrational, so I just considered the whole bet off. He then had the biggest smile and said, “That was part of my strategy! You totally fell for it!” Somehow my weasel of a husband thinks because he tricked me the previous week, and guessed my move of vetoing, he was the winner.
I will admit that it was a good strategy. I will also admit that he had my number. But I will NEVER admit that he gets to name the baby. Even if I have to go to new lows to get the upper hand back, for my baby’s namesake…I WILL!
And the best part is…………………he already had a name by the time we came home from San Fran. He was really excited because it was a unisex name that would work for either a boy or girl. So I know it is very risky to publicly say what the name is with so many other pregnant ladies out there. So PLEASE don’t steal it. His name for our sweet little second child……our very first girl………….Spider. What a JOKE!
News…
My mom started jumping up and down, screaming, and then started to cry…which in turn put tears into my eyes, Micah’s eyes and Skilly’s eyes. The ultrasound lady said it is the very best reaction she has ever seen. Yep….we’re having a girl! My mom and I have already hit up Under the Umbrella, The Flying Primm, The Red Balloon, Erica Dee Kids and of course Fairy Tales. She is all ready to start making bows again, and I am the proud owner of the bedding she has saved for the first “live in California” girl…and it is darling! We are all excited, and are dying to see if she looks like Scout, or will be our little Japanese lady, or possibly a ravishing red head?! Time will tell, but for now….time to keep living it up with Scout!

Sneak Attack #2….
I was HAD! Stinking Tristen was supposed to be in town to take Calin and her friend to some lame Jonas Brothers concert. Well when she decided to take a jaunt up north, I got totally suckered into going. I have to put a major disclaimer out there……I absolutely DID NOT want to go! The only reason I got conned into it is because Calin came up to me and told me that only Tristen and I are fun at concerts, and only we can make them really fun…..and “PLEASE don’t make my mom or especially dad take me!” She had a point, so off I went Monday night with her and her friend Jessie. We stopped at Zov’s for a good dinner, and got there with five minutes to spare. (Shout out to me for getting the best parking spot available. I told the guy I was VIP, and he just smiled and told us the back way to get into the VIP parking spots. After that, I heard Calin say to Jessie….”See, I told you. She can do anything!”)
We headed into the concert, and all I saw were a bunch of screaming 6-12 year olds, and I figured I would make the best of it. UNTIL…..Calin handed me my ticket and pointed to section 223, as she and her friend headed over to section 221. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Out of the good graces of my heart, I went to the stupid concert….only to find out that I would be sitting by my lonesome self at a stupid Jonas Brothers Concert.
You should have seen me in my chair. I sat there with my fingers in my ears the whole time, and almost lost it when Nick Jonas asked the crowd if “they have ever had a really hard time in their life” and the two 7 year olds went ballistic in support! Talk about a serious sneak attack — and when I asked Calin’s mom why she omitted that info while telling me about the concert, she said, “Well, I didn’t think you would have gone!” Really?!
Aloha from Hawaii
We headed over to Hawaii for about 9 days, and had a really fun time. We first went to the Big Island, and then off to Maui. Scout was in love with the beach. His dad would take him out in the water as far as they could go, and he loved every minute of it….see picture.
First time to Sea World!
We had the best time going to Sea World with Nathan’s family and the Brockbanks. Scout loved it, but out of everything, I think he liked the popcorn the most. He also loved the little kid part where he could crawl around and play with soft blocks.
He didn’t die over the starfishes, but we had a good time with them.
His favorite part was hanging with Nonnie and Papa at the shows.
