Scootering

Lately, in my attempts to “bring sexy back” I try to fit in exercise where I can.
This day, it was after I put two kids down for naps, and had a bit before karate.

So this karate kid and I headed down to the harbor for a quick lap.

And a quick picture or two.

Well-Trained

As Dash got out of the bath this morning, he disappeared.  I spent a few minutes doing the Pips, and getting myself finished, so he was gone about ten minutes.  When I called out his name three times, there was no answer.  But then when I said, “Dash….you better answer me!”, he finally said, “I coming!”
He still didn’t come after a few seconds, so I turned the corner to see a little naked boy playing on Nonnie’s IPhone. (You don’t say!)
When I saw him, I did my Mommy Gasp.
He immediately turned knowing he was in trouble, and dramatically grasped his head and said, “I sick!”
I said, “No you aren’t.”
He said, “Yes I am!”
Me, “No you’re not!”
Him, “Yes, I am!”
Me, “If you don’t get in there so I can put a diaper on you, you are gonna be in big trouble!”
Him, “But I sick!”
Me, “Get in there!”
Him with a coy smile, “Otay…..I tricking!”

Holy cow
I think this is part Navy, part Scout and even part Micah.

“Eye on the Ball”

img_3412-2014-02-02-at-10-21-59.jpg
With a few extra moments to spare this morning, Nonnie and Dash were playing catch.  Nothing was cuter than him trying to catch it.  He would get so scared and cover his face before she released the ball.  It was wimpy and cute.  But it got cuter when my mom kept saying, “Now come on Dash….Keep your eye on the ball!”
img_3417-2014-02-02-at-10-29-25.jpg
He took that statement very literally!
He kept putting his eye on the ball, and was cracking us up!

Soon after, Scout joined in on the fun.

And then a very timid Navy did.

But she got the hang of it, and the three of them played a darling game of catch for a bit.
I have said it once — and I will say it over and over again…..
“NOTHING makes me happier, than when I see my kids getting along and being kind to each other and others!”

Superbowl ‘14

Of course we headed down to Megan’s for Superbowl Sunday.
And of course she had the chocolate fountain out for especially the kids to enjoy.

In heaven.

In major heaven.

In clown heaven.

And he didn’t personally say this, but I am pretty sure Cade is in the ultimate heaven!

Beauty

img_3408-2014-02-02-at-09-12-31.jpg
This girl has decided to be as sweet as ever lately.
She is helpful, a good example, a hard worker, kind, and happy.
Clearly whatever she is on the inside shows up on the outside, because I think she looked as beautiful as ever this morning.
Looks like the stuff inside is oozing out.

Pip’s First Shoes

I was so excited to put Pippi’s first shoes on.
I bought these within a week of finding out she was a girl, and have been waiting ever since to put them on.
A cute little white dress this Sunday morning was the perfect outfit to compliment these silver with white heart ballet slippers.
But what bow?

Obviously a sparkly silver bow I ran in and whipped up to complete the outfit.

Neighbors

Instead of a family bed tonight, we opted for a play date.  These five watched Airplanes until almost 10:00.  It was a bold move on my part to let them stay up so late, but it paid off in the end when they all slept in until after 9:00 the next morning!

Winter Formal Hair

Ka was in charge of Winter Formal, so she had to get her hair and makeup done in the afternoon.  Their dance was at a raceway, and she was going to have to put a helmet on her head, so we kept it down in a romantic half braid with a lot of texture.
When I got a text later that night saying that she had won”Sophomore Princess”, I wrote back “It must have been the hair”.
Obvi!

Loving the Pips

If Pippi is awake, and I am missing other kids….it is a safe bet that they are mugging on their little sister.

Exercise Time

The little Pips is one week shy of being four months, and she is a weakling.
So I have had her practicing her tummy time, and she tries her hardest.

She grunts and groans as she turns herself into a rocking boat and holds it for 45 seconds.
She puts her all into it and in just a few short days, she has gotten way stronger!

After her big workout, Bella came in for a smile.
But the Pips was WAY too tired.
And can you blame her?
The poor thing is only 10 pounds.
