I feel badly that Scout hates so many foods.
I feel worse for him that I am determined to get him to eat some of them.
I came up with the bright idea of cooking eggs in front of him so he could see every step.
He was sold.
So I cracked, added milk, added salt, added butter to the pan, and cooked.
He was still sold.
After one bite, he ran over to call Micah and exclaimed, “Dad! I like eggs!”
We were all excited and this really is a big fete.
But as I watched him, I saw his gag reflexes kick in a few times — poor guy!
But I am proud to report that Scout finished his whole plate!
I am sad to report that he insinuated that his egg excitement would live and die with this one experience.
(Not if I can help it!)
Guess who found her feet, and is always playing footsies with them!
The second Dash wakes up he is looking for me, and then his Pips.
But after his nap, I felt cheated on.
I heard his door open, and I kept waiting for him to come in and announce “I hear!”
But instead, I had to go track him down.
There he was, cuddling with the Pips.
I always thought I was his first stop, but today proved otherwise.
Apparently, Pippi is number one and I am two.
That’s okay…I’ll take second after the sweetest little girl a mom could ask for.
When I picked Scout up from school he told me he had a treat for Navy that he couldn’t wait to give her. He wouldn’t tell me what it was, but it was “something Navy would LOVE!” Fast forward an hour, when Scout gifted Navy a bag full of roly polies he had collected for her at recess. How sweet/gross is that!
She was literally thrilled, and “took them outside immediately” just like she was asked to do.
All was well until the next morning when I thought she was “checking on her kitchen” a whole lot.
When I followed her to her kitchen sink, I saw about two moving roly polies, and about fifteen others that had seen their day.
Just like my girl….
she didn’t listen to the “outside” instruction.
she killed them off by man handling them too much (could have been the bag as well).
she was way more stoked on roly polies than anything frilly.
I always have loved watching Jake and Chloe together. They adore each other and clearly have a special bond. When I found out I was having a girl, I was excited for Navy to get a sister, Dash to have a sibling close in age, and Scout to create that same special bond Jake and Chloe have. And by what I have seen so far…they are on their way.
I won’t post a picture to prove that Scout’s permanent teeth are officially scarred.
He took a boogie board to the bottom teeth, and the two front ones are chipped about 1/5 of the way down.
It could have been worse!
But it could have been better!
Like no chips at all…or baby teeth.
Dash is always pretty pumped to meet up with Tommy at swim lessons.
Here they are…probably contemplating the mysteries of life.
Starting with, why does this lady constantly tell us to “reach and pull”!
One is tough.
One is a wimp.
But they are best friends nonetheless.
John Clifford went to work and had a coworker show him this photo.
He said he had to snap a picture of the darling kids murdering a bunch of snails at the temple.
John sent it to me, and whoops!
Of course it was my kids…collecting and yes…murdering.
Look at Dash with his arm draped over Christian’s shoulder.
My kids love all of their cousins…but there is something about Christian that they really, really love!
Me too!
