Dash chose to research Nonnie for his Heritage project.
He was pretty confident that he could do it all on his own.
When I saw him doing push ups while writing — one eyebrow was raised.
When I read that my “family name” is “Denison”, and Nonnie used to celebrate “Hanaka”, my other eyebrow raised.

I sent him in to actually interview his subject.
When I saw his project later, and it said that Nonnie’s advice she would give people is “Work hard and stop being wussies!”, I knew he did his project correctly — by interviewing his Nonnie — because that sounds just like her!
