Navy had her “Walk through California” day today. It is rad. With a hands-on demonstration, she and her classmates learn a ton of stuff about California in one afternoon. And they make it come to life in a way I have never seen before. For her part, she has to memorize a few things - one about the landscape of California, and another about the missions of California. With all of the kids in her class memorizing different things, they make it into a competition for the afternoon. I went to see Navy at work. Her first part was flawless. Her second part was not that great. I couldn’t understand why she had such a hard time with it, and then her teacher pulled me aside to tell me another girl was sick, so they gave Navy the extra part at the last minute. And with literally three minutes, she got most of it down. Her teacher also told me that she was so happy that Navy so graciously accepted it, and that Navy is quite often her go-to gal when she needs things done!
What a compliment to Navy, and yes…she is my go-to gal too!
