Scarlett O’Hara told me this morning, she still has a fever!
She does.
But let me tell you the most amazing story ever! Last night, I slept on one couch, while Pippi slept on the other. Three different times in the night, I heard Pippi get up for a drink. When she realized her water bottle was empty, she got off the couch, went into the bathroom, and filled it enough for a good swig of water. After rehydrating, she would put her bottle back on the table, then she would reposition her blankets, put her bowl back next to her, and go back to sleep. At three years old, I have NEVER had a kid take care of themselves! Micah is 40, and he isn’t this self contained when he is sick! It was AMAZING! She took care of herself three times in the night, without asking me for any help whatsoever! I was shocked and SOOO proud!
She spent another day in a sick bed, but it was a much better day! She only threw up a few times, and kept her perfect record of making the bowl each time.
She asked me to get the tent out, because she wanted to make a different sick bed…
but she ended up back in the sick bed her mama made her.
I feel a bit guilty for how independent she was while being sick. But I PROMISE that I am going to feel WAY more guilty, when my other four (yes — including Micah) get sick next…and I tell them to suck it up, and then compare them to Pippi, “The unprecedented example of a perfect sick person”.
