Micah and I were invited to a wedding up past Los Angeles.  We went back and forth about going.  In the end, we decided to brave Saturday traffic.  It was our mistake, because it took us almost 5 hours to get there!  I was an absolute nightmare!  By the time we finally got there, we were so wiped.  But the wedding was fun.  When we got into the car to go back, we were a little hesitant, but knew the traffic would be gone.  We hopped on the freeway, Micah drove fast in the carpool lane.  We were chatting, and having a good time…until I hear Micah yell out “Oh Crap!”
Before I knew it, we had plowed into something on the freeway, and it was big.  Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something big and white, and Micah told me that out of nowhere a dog was in the lane next to us, and wandered into our lane within a split second.  Micah rammed straight into the poor dog.  (We think it was an Ikita who fell from the back of a truck???) As sad as it is, I was so glad he was driving, because we had a favorable outcome.  We were safe, our car was trashed…but we were safe.  I was so glad he didn’t swerve to the left — because we were next to the wall.  And to the right — in our blind spot was another car.  So heading straight was our only option.

We got off the freeway to assess the damage.  It was substantial, but we figured that without leaks — we could still drive.  So we slowly drove home from around LAX.
I hate Los Angeles, and it’s freeways — and this just solidified my hatred!
And I teased Micah that this is the third accident he has been driving my car in…to my zero!
That would be amazing in and of itself, but since I drive 95% of the time - it is even more amazing!
