My kids were so awful last night, that Micah forbade them from suing my services today.  They had to get up on their own for school, get themselves ready, make their own lunches, and be in the car on time.  I slept in.  While they were at school, I made “the list”.

They were literally on their own.
Micah demanded that I take the day off, and they were to do everything.
(Notice that Pippi and Dash weren’t included in the list — they had their own mini lists, but they were much more innocent last night.)
When the kids got home, they got their list, and nothing else.
They had homework, cleaning jobs, piano, the laundry, their dinner, and cleaning the house at night.
They were basically doing my jobs.  I assigned them to do the laundry together for a little team building exercise.

At the end of the night, they got an A+ on their work.  They did everything, and they did it well.  The house was spotless as they went to bed.
When they came to give me a kiss goodnight, they said they wanted to tell me something.  I just knew they were going to tell me how insightful and hard their day was.  So when “Mom, it’s fun to be you, we want lists every day”, I shuttered!
Forget that!
I already have enough to do.
I’m certainly not adding “type out a list of what the kids need to do” to my list!
