Micah and I are so annoyed that we got such a short summer (2 months) this year, that we decided we needed to stick one last trip in before school.
There were a few ideas on the table, but Micah really pushed the river…so here we are…in all 109 degrees of it!
And I’ll admit, that it was a really fun few days.
Here are just a few of the highlights…
Scout tried EVERYTHING! He went from last year, where he didn’t try anything — even the tube, to trying every single thing this year. I’ve always said it….Scout is an observer. He watches, digests, and then participates if he wants to. This was a longer digestion than most, but he was awesome — he tried two skis, one ski, the wakeboard, and the tube!
The biggest highlight was the shade! We were in it whenever we could be, and it was a huge relief from the out-of-control heat.
The kids loved the “Hot Dog”, and we even got a “no hands” from Dash!
Dash was hilarious. He was hesitant to try a few things, but when I told him he was the daredevil of the family, he would always get right out and try!
But the true daredevil just might be Pippi! She loved the Hot Dog, and wanted to go again and again.
She got Scout to take her on another ride.
Grandma and Grandpa were troopers, with a full day on the boat — I think it was over 4 hours!
Pippi took over on the controls a few times, which made her very happy.
The kids were loving “Booty Drops” where they just jumped off the boat as it was going.
All of my kids, but especially Navy loved the shore, where she collected about every shell there, and then played in the clay for hours.
She even made a footprint in the morning, that had dried by that night.
Cliff jumping was a highlight — here they are scouting everything out, but they got much higher than this.
Micah got in a sweet ride, but he let us all sleep in and missed the perfect morning glass.
Anything refreshing was a highlight — like this juicy watermelon.
And most of all….the biggest highlight of them all…was the air-conditioned rooms we got to go back to every night!
Where we could be sunblock-free, and cool!
