My favorite after-school-is-out treat is a few days at Rancho Las Palmas. We have the very best time together. This year, after hearing my rave reviews, Britni joined in. It was perfect, because we shared a room which made it less money, and our kids didn’t stop playing for one second the whole time — I mean THE WHOLE TIME.
See for yourself:
We first stopped at the outlets for a little dinner and JCrew Outlet.
The kids were so antsy about getting to the hotel, we quickly drove on.
The second we got there, the kids went frog hunting, and Navy scored mightily. All of the boys were scared of catching them — but not my Navy.
After we set up the room, we went to bed.
But the second the sun came into our room, our kids geared up, and were immediately out frog catching again.
We got rad places at the pool — with shade, and blocked the kids up.
Britni brought Zinka, and it was a hit!
It was nonstop water and sand play all day long.
There is a water slide, a splash pad, a lazy river, a mini beach, etc.
The kids never stopped, except for a bite to eat.
After the pool, the kids went golf ball hunting.
They searched high and low for any golf ball they could get their hands on — and of course they scored with about a dozen.
Dash and Pippi took a break to eat, and feed the ducks.
After they had found every golf ball accessible, they went frog catching again.
We finally called a hault to their shenanigans, so we could go to the Old Spaghetti Factory for some dinner.
We then hit up a movie, where Pippi held my hand the whole time.
We obviously had to stop for ice cream for dessert!
We capped off the night with a little night swimming — of course.
And finally….FINALLY we hit the hay.
And you’d never guess who had good sleeps that night!

We woke the next morning, and started all over again!
This time we played Lazy River tag, which was so fun!
Then ate Dippin’ Dots.
And then Britni and I needed a nap, but instead we packed up and drove all the way home!

It was a jam-packed few days, but they are SO fun.
I hope my kids never grow out of this hotel.
