Upon walking into the kid’s school this morning, they had every lost coat/sweater/jacket/backpack/lunch sack hung over the chain linked fence. It is their attempt to return any lost items, before they donate the unclaimed. There is also one little card table the houses the few things that can’t be hung. I knew none of this stuff was mine, because after Scout losing 2 sweatshirts in 1st grade, I just don’t send my kids with layers anymore. So I walked without looking. But I was curious to see what couldn’t be hung up, so I glanced at the little table. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a teeny pair of sparkly shoes, that were much too small to be shoes of a school goer. I kept walking, and then stopped in my tracks, because those were Pippi’s shoes! What in the world? How did they get here, and how were they lost?
We all cracked up, and then racked our brains to understand how they got lost.
Scout came up with the best thought, that could actually be true.
He thinks that when we came to decorate the door, she took them off at the playground, and we just never noticed that she was shoe-less.
I like it, and that’s the story we are going with.
