Navy memorized her talk in 24 hours, and nailed it with poise, a loud voice — and even a bit of pizzazz!
It went:
Whenever I hear the words “Feast upon the scriptures”, I don’t really know what the means.  But then I remember the Thanksgiving dinner I had this year.  I didn’t just pick at it.  I didn’t kind of eat it.  NO!  I feasted upon it like it was the most delicious dinner in the whole wide world.
Now it makes sense!
When they say “feast upon the scriptures”, it means not to just look at the scriptures.  Or flip through the pages and kind of read them.  It means to feast upon them like they are the most precious things on earth!
Don’t you just love the story about Nephi building the boat to come to the promised land?  Or how about Abinadi being so brave to stand up against King Noah.  And you can’t forget about the great missionaries that the sons of Mosiah became.  They were awesome!  And I know these things, because in our family, we feast upon the scriptures.
She did such a good job, that the conductor mentioned that if we applauded in church, it deserved a round of applause.
And then the whole primary applauded.
Navy was SOOOO pleased!
