Pippi is full of gibberish these days.  She talks incessantly, but nobody has a clue to what she is saying.  But this past week (due to her screaming problem that I am trying to curb), I have really tried to understand what she is saying.  I figure that if I can understand her thousands of demands each day, maybe she won’t get frustrated with me — and then scream at me!
(Can you tell that there has been a lot of screaming lately?)
Well, it kind of seems to be working.
Now I understand that “monkey” means “milky” which means she needs a drink.
And “all done” means that she wants to get cleaned up.
And that “BUS!!!!!!!!!!” means that she wants to flop in front of the computer to watch nursery rhymes.
We are getting there.
And just minutes ago, right after Scout and Navy left for school, I felt like we had a real communication breakthrough!
She chucked her food off of her high chair, so I got her out and asked her to clean it up.
Which she did!
And then, as I was cleaning her hands, there was an ambulance way off in the distance, and her eyes got really big, and she said, “Uh Oh!  What is wrong?”
I couldn’t believe it.
But it was as clear as day.
And almost as clear as the teeny tiny light I can now see at the end of the tunnel.
