Scout wasn’t acing his spelling tests, so we came up with a new plan — test him each day until he knows them backwards and forwards.
Monday’s test — each wrong word is written 5 times.
Tuesday’s test — each wrong word 10 times.
Wednesday’s test — each wrong word 15 times.
Thursday’s test — each wrong word 20 times.

Unfortunately, Nate and Skylar were over during this Thursday spelling test.  And when he got “because” wrong, I assigned him the 20 times.  Then he whined, so I doubled it.  Then he whined some more, and it got doubled again.  This went on and on, until that poor kid had to write “because” 130 times.
Poor thing.
But he did it, and I was so proud that he finally did it, that I told him that he could go on a bike ride with Nate.
And as I sent them off, I realized that half of his 130 words were spelled incorrectly.
Are you kidding me!

But I let it ride, because he was out of my hair for a while!
Along with Dash and Navy!
I love Nate.
They were gone for about an hour, and I was dying.  The kids talked him into going to their “friend’s house” that had a talking parrot.  He went along with it, and realized something was whacky when the door was answered by a 60 year old lady.  She invited them in to see the parrot and collect a few feathers.

He came back carrying his bike that had a flat tire, and Navy’s bike that was too hard for her to ride up the hill.  And then told me about the 60 year old lady.
After I laughed a ton, I told him that she was a lady my mom visit taught.  And that she has only met my kids once.
