The Gang

These three are thick as thieves.
They play together so well….and get in trouble together so well.
Like about three minutes before this picture, when the property owner yelled at them for making a bike track down her hill.

Alex the Old Grandma

My kids have grown to love “The Old Grandma” (named Alex).
We collect all of our bottles until we see her collecting them, and then give ours to her.  Then my kids always add in a bit of their own money (or mine if they don’t have any — but they usually do).
So today, as we were driving, we saw her.
Navy was so excited, so we U-Turned to catch her at the next driveway.
But we were a bit far, so my kids insisted on walking.

Navy and Dash grabbed all of our bottles, and started towards her.

She gets so excited to see them, and always says, “God Bless, God Bless….you are beautiful!”
Then I went out to talk to her for a minute.
I asked her how she was, and told her my kids call her “Grandma”.
Then I asked about her own kids and grandkids — all of which are in Columbia.
She said she is lonely without them, but thinks of my own kids as her grandkids.
And as she said it, she got big tears in her eyes, and so did I.

As we got in the car and went to pick up Scout, I told them all the story, and we decided that the next time we see Alex, we want to invite her to dinner.
And you better believe that each time we are in the car, my kids are searching for the Old Grandma.

“Most Improved”

Scout was awarded with “Most Improved” by his Basketball coaches last night!
We were all super excited, and in agreement.
He came along way in one season.

And we have this guy to thank.
Nice work Nate.

Clowning

img_5787-2015-02-27-at-09-24-40.jpg
I thought Scout was going to be the clown in the family — and he is.
But I think Dash is coming in at a close second.
Even though it totally hurt him, because he was getting laughs, he put this chip clip on his nose over and over.
I’m not sure if this whole comedian thing is in the genes…or a case of “monkey see, monkey do”.

Always Happy

img_5785-2015-02-26-at-08-24-00.jpg
After a five minute tantrum from the Pips, I looked over at Dash, and he was telling me how much he loves me.
My mom always tells me how lucky I am to have the “sweetest child ever created”, but it is times like this that reiterate her words.

Squirrly

img_5783-2015-02-26-at-08-17-42.jpg
This girl uses her size to her advantage.
She is able to weasel her way out of a ton of stuff because she is little enough to twist and maneuver.
Most days, I see her handiwork when I get her out of her bed — when she is without clothes.
But today, under her 5-point harness, she somehow was in the process of getting undressed.
Impressive.

The Sneak

It is all too often that I look for Dash, and my heart skips a beat because he is nowhere to be found.
And to top it off….he isn’t answering to my frantic calls.
But before I get panicked, I look at one of his favorite hiding spots….

…and can usually find the glow of the IPad and a chubby finger swiping it.

Daddy’s Boy

I don’t know who had my camera — probably Navy, but she captured a cute picture of Micah and his sweetest boy.

Like Bry

This morning as we were reading scriptures, Scout and Navy thought that king Mosiah sounded just like Bryan.
So we took a picture, and sent it to him.

And I think they nailed it.

Chinese New Year

Scout has his third, and Navy had her first Chinese New Year’s assembly.
Both sang their little hearts out.
And Scout went straight back to class, while Navy had a party.

Where she Panda Express.

Hung out with friends like Charlie and Katherine.

And showed her class off to her brother.
