Basketball is without any doubt…my favorite spectator sport.
Indoor, quick-paced, exciting, lots of scoring.
And it doesn’t hurt that Scout loves it!

Pocket Knife

You can not imagine the excitement Scout oozed when his best buddies gave him his first pocket knife.
And I am proud of that boy, because he asked me to put it in a safe place where he could get it when he wanted it.
You have to love a boy who wants to make sure the little kids can’t get to it.

Dash the Tolerant One

Pippi’s language skills are lacking.
Basically, she squeals for everything.
And when the squeals aren’t met with exactly what she wants, she screams, yells, and tantrums it up!
Good thing she has the most tolerant brother ever, to calm her down.

Focus

Scout is smart.
Scout has the ability to work hard.
Scout can remember anything.
Scout is a lot of really good things.
But what Scout isn’t….
is focused!
We are rallying the troops, and handing out punishments to get this problem situated.
Because I am OVER the 20 minutes of homework turning into an all night ordeal!

A New Sushi Lover

Move over you old school sushi lovers.
img_5293-2015-01-07-at-17-30-20-1.jpg
There is a new sushi lover in town!

Kid’s Club

img_5290-2015-01-07-at-11-29-22.jpg
Not that I love working out, but I do love having a free hour while my kids play.
And it is highly motivating to get to the gym when my kids wake up and tell me that they want to go to Kid’s Club.

World Peace

Don’t let this face fool you.
He is as far from stinky as you can get.
If every person in the world was like him, there would finally be world peace.
And everyone would compliment each other incessantly.
And everyone would look gorgeous to one another.
But there might be crazy earthquakes in the wee hours of the morning, as everyone would be jumping up and down frantically (sometimes alongside tears), denying the fact that they needed to go potty.

Car Seat Woes

img_5276-2015-01-05-at-12-06-02.jpg
Do you know, how I know that this picture was taken in the first moments of her being in her car seat?
Because momentarily, this girl will be squirming all around, trying to get out while getting madder and madder.
And then she will grab that bow on top of her head, and angrily rip it out — along with 20 pieces of hair!
This sweet but stubborn girl has lost about half of the hair on top of her head because of those silent tantrums.
But isn’t she cute!

11:00 Church

Going from 9:00 to 11:00 is a welcome change!
img_5245-2015-01-04-at-10-17-05.jpg
I had time to get my littlest ready in a calm manner — no mad dash today!
img_5250-2015-01-04-at-10-26-29.jpg
We even had enough time to play a family game of Yahtzee before we left.
img_5264-2015-01-04-at-14-36-22.jpg
And the best part of the new time…
A new time means it is a new year…
Which means the kids all go to new classes…
Which means that my boy who has had a very long stint in nursery, is finally a SUNBEAM!

Wild Animal Park Day

img_5230-2015-01-03-at-15-04-13.jpg
With only a few weeks left on our Wild Animal Park passes, Micah and I went down for the afternoon with our kids — minus Dash who was on a special date with Bella.
It was only a few hours, but we saw the most active animals and had a blast.

I love this moment on the tram where Pippi had her arm around Dash.
img_5241-2015-01-03-at-16-12-25.jpg
And we all loved this moment where we were really up close and personal with the rhinos.
