His DayDay

After a really long week, I put Dash to bed last night.  When I did, I realized that I had pulled out the two pink DayDay’s. (All of my kids have the exact same blanket….a blue each for the boys, and a pink each for the girls.)  All four DayDay’s were in the car from the road trip, and it was dark when I grabbed them out.  As I tucked him in, and put his DayDay’s around him, he said, “Hey….dese are not mine!  Dese da pink ones.”  My exhaustion level took over, and I told him that I was going to wash his, but the pink ones were clean.  He is so sweet that he went right to bed.

This morning, I heard little feet coming my way.  I was surprised that they never quite made it, because I was guessing it was Dash’s footsteps, and wanted to see if I was right.  I waited a few more seconds, and then I heard the sound the dryer makes when the door is opened.  My heart kind of melted….he was looking for his clean DayDays.  I ran out and asked him what he was doing.  He said, “Mama…..where my cwean DayDays?”  I told him they were still in the car, and that I was going to wash them today.  Then he said, “Maybe we could go and get dem so I could have dem before they get washed.”

So I grabbed my keys, and we went out to get his dirty DayDay’s for him to snuggle with.

Auggies

Our last stop on our road trip was Auggie’s house.
Obviously my kids were in heaven when I told them!

Sometimes….

….you just got to go!
I woke up Monday morning, found a good hotel in Palm Springs, packed my kids up…and we were off.
It was four days full of fun.
Roadtrips, outlets, hotel, ducks, lazy river, sand toys, movies, searching for golf balls, restaurants, trams, hiking and Auggie’s house.
It was packed in.
But the true test of it being worth it was passed.
As we were packing up to leave….my kids were going crazy that we should stay just “one more day!”
And Dash used his favorite number seven while he begged for “Peeease….just seven more days!”
