My perfect first born child has been having some behavioral problems lately. A lot of temper situations have come from the master teaser — Navy, and there have been some things at school. A few white slips and maybe a call from Mrs. Komine where she handed the phone to Scout.
Micah and I sat him down to talk to him about the fact that he was becoming a young man. And with that comes different things, such as, new types of feelings. We talked to him about anger being a fine thing to feel, but that his reactions needed to be appropriate. We also told him that while he was little and his anger was still little, that he needed to learn how to take care of it so that he grows up to be a nice and controlled person.
If there is one thing about Scout, it is that he can change his behavior immediately.
From that day on, he has been a perfect child! He has been calm. He has had a few almost mess ups, but then I can see that he regroups. I am sure we will still have to do a bit of work, but I am SO proud of this boy of mine who changed his ways so quickly. He is the perfect child to have as the example for all the rest.
