I have always said the Navy is tough as nails. But even I was impressed by this! I decided this morning that I was going to walk to swimming lessons.
My three youngest were at home, and the double stroller was full, so it looked like Navy was going to be scootering!
We headed out, and I quickly realized that we live amongst bigger hills than I ever realized.
Poor me.
Poor Navy!
But you wouldn’t have believed it!
That girl scootered and scootered and scootered!
She was amazing!
It was four miles there.
Then she swam for an hour.
And another four miles scootering back home.
Eight miles!
Again — she was amazing!
So I rewarded her with a Yogurtland (she got to make it extra big) on our way home.
At the final stretch, she found some honeysuckles.
And then she treated herself to a few of those.

After eight miles, and two blistered feet for me, Navy didn’t even flinch.
She just wanted to know if after picking up Scout, they could play for a while before homework.
To which I agreed.
Happily.
