There is something about December in this family.
Yesterday marks the two-year anniversary of Scout’s bone crushing fall from a swing that put him in a body cast.
So I thought December 10th was the big day in December that would mark our lives forever.
But today, December 11th gave December 10th a run for its money.
This morning Pippi had her blood drawn to see if she would head back into the hospital for another blood transfusion.

Then a bit later, I discovered this:

Only a bone growing directly out of Scout’s gums.
Apparently, when he got his tooth knocked out a sharp little remnant stayed in there, and is now working its way out.
After I saw it, I told Micah he needed to check it out, because it was kind “Ripley’s Believe it or Notish”.
But before Micah had a chance to see it, I saw Scout feeling it with his tongue.
Then he said….”Whoa Mom!!! I got the bone out with my tongue!”
“Whoa…whoa…WHOA! I just swallowed my bone!”

Not much later, I had a little girl as sad as can be on the couch.
Sweet thing didn’t follow directions to play in the cul-de-sac.
Instead she went with Seth, Cade and Scout to the community gate.

Unfortunately, that community gate was too strong for her little fingers to take.
With a good gash on her pinky, three fingers pretty crushed and some crazy swelling, I felt so badly for her.
But if you know my kids….they are tough.
And Pippi will thrive.
Scout will flourish.
And Navy will prevail.

Good thing Dash wasn’t hurt today…because I was out of synonyms!
